Morning all, happy hump day.
WFH today so a nice relaxing start to the day apart from having to clean up some cat sick.
Mr SA and DD had a set to last night so am staying well out of it. Mr SA told DD to move out! It's over something really trivial that's been ongoing for a while. DD keeps insisting Mr SA is moving the lid on her slow cooker. Mr SA has form for denying he's done something when he has but this time I don't think he's to blame. I think it's the steam moving it but DD insists it's Mr SA. What a petty and tedious argument 😐
Mid-week finance check done, cc balance cleared and an oddment of £3.10 sent to the Christmas pot.
Yesterday ended up being a NSD as forgot all about ordering Mr SA a phone case with refereeing the argument. So the phone case is still a to do and I also need to order him some new hair clippers.
Mr T delivery arriving this afternoon.
Today's exercise is live yoga (done), dog walking and live Zumba tonight.
Cleaning task is the hall and stairs.
Tonight's dinner is a new recipe Fajita-style tofu traybake with garlic yoghurt. I'm trying a menu plan from the Ella Mills Quick Wins vegan cookbook. There are 8 weekly meal plans with shopping lists in the back of the book so I thought I'd give week 1 a go. It will be interesting to try some different meals and I've got most of the ingredients in stock apart from some of the veg. It makes two portions so one can be tomorrow's lunch.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping) -.literally have been run over by a bike, mobility scooter and a car - still here 💪6 -
Forgot to say Mr SA finally finished a job I'd allocated him several weeks ago. All it entailed was to dismantle a stand so I could fit it in the bin.
Picked two courgettes from the garden and a bag of blackberries from the park. All the things I'm growing, apart from courgettes, are not quite ready to pick. I was late sowing the seeds due to being on holiday so everything is a long way behind. Still annoyed with Mr SA for planting out the October sown sweet peas. I sowed some more in Spring but they're only just starting to flower. This is the first year I haven't been able to pick sweet peas 😞
The meal plan is:
- Mushroom orzo risotto
- Giant couscous salad
- Miso aubergine ragu
- Aubergine tortillas
- Fajita style tofu traybake
- Fancy butter beans
- Cucumber and tofu bowls (lunch)
- Cabbage and mango salad (lunch)
Everything flows into the other recipes so you don't need that many ingredients. The aubergine ragu becomes aubergine tortillas another day. Looking forward to giving it a try.

I love a roll-on meal plan! Makes life so easy doesn't it! I often do something similar buying chicken which is cooked and then rolls through various meals in the week as well.

Had notification that one of the 6 months regular savers is maturing on 5 August so have opted to transfer £250 into a new regular saver bond, sadly no 6 months ones showing as available, this one is for a year. The remaining balance will be transferred to the current account as this is the holiday pot.
In ridiculous DD actions, she's now got the slow cooker in her bedroom!! I noticed her glass mug was broken earlier where she'd left it on the draining board. It's still there but 'out on display' with the broken piece next to it. No doubt she's going to accuse one of us of breaking it. It couldn't possibly be the way she slams things about everywhere could it 😡 I really hope the slow cooker lid moves in her room so she will see that no one is moving the damned thing! Oh the joys of living with someone with autism/ADHD who is also most likely peri-menopausal to boot!
In shopping news the Mr T delivery is arriving between 4-5 with no subs or missing items so that's a relief.

Don’t think I haven’t been tempted. I have threatened to sell the house, give Mr SA his half and tell them both to go fend for themselves.

Has your daughter never wanted to live independently, @Sun_Addict? Maybe she feels frustrated still living at home, but it's also a comfort zone for her? Though tbf, housing costs can be really prohibitive for single adults these days.
2026's challenges: 1) To rebuild our Emergency Fund to at least £5k.
2) To read 50 books (12/50) 3) The Re-Shrinking of Foxgloves 8.1kg/30kg
Remember....if you have to put it on a credit card, extend your overdraft or take out a loan to buy whatever it is, you probably can't afford it, as that's not your money, it's somebody else's!4
