Morning all.
Another hot one today 😎
WFH so a nice relaxing start to the day. Will probably finish early as long as nothing urgent comes up.
Mid week finance check done a day late. CC balance paid off. An oddment of £5.12 has gone to the Christmas pot.
Found a dead bird on the lawn this morning 😞Also discovered the bag of fish food I bought yesterday was all over the garden. Mr SA for some reason thought it was a good idea to empty the contents into an empty hanging basket and it had tipped over in the night. Why would he do this! It would get ruined anyway if it rained. Absolutely senseless 😡 So he got a ticking off when he got up. He's like a loose cannon at the moment. I tried to salvage as much as I could from the ground.
Today's exercise plan is yoga, dog walking (need to do very shortly before it gets too hot), a lunchtime strength training class and Zumba tonight.
Tonight's dinner is a portion of veggie lasagne from freezer stocks with salad.
It should be a NSD.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping) -.literally have been run over by a bike, mobility scooter and a car - still here 💪6 -
Oh my word...how do you exercise in this heat? Your house must be cooler than ours.. lol. I've just hoovered before it gets too hot, and that wore me out…lol

Just the thought of doing Zumba in this heat has made me need a glass of water!
Cats go weird in hot weather too - maybe Mr SA is the same.
Soot had left a dead mouse for us yesterday when I got up at 4.15. I double bagged it & dealt with burying later in case he had the idea of hiding it again.
2026's challenges: 1) To rebuild our Emergency Fund to at least £5k.
2) To read 50 books (12/50) 3) The Re-Shrinking of Foxgloves 8.1kg/30kg
Remember....if you have to put it on a credit card, extend your overdraft or take out a loan to buy whatever it is, you probably can't afford it, as that's not your money, it's somebody else's!3 -
Shame about the dead bird, probably the work of a cat if not the heat. One of my neighbours has 3 cats. I'm always chasing them away as one in particular lies in wait under one of the bird tables. You'd have thought that by now it would have got the message that it's not welcome!

I've got two cats. One is too old to bother with them but the young cat is a hunter at the moment although she's not as bad as she used to be.

Re being able to exercise in the heat - I just choose the coolest room. Our dining room window is overshadowed by a church so it's the coolest room in the house. I leave the patio doors open too to try and get a bit of airflow through. Also I take it steady, have plenty of cold water on standby and don't push myself too hard when it's hot.

I'd love to have a cat but I'd have to give up feeding the birds if I did, otherwise the birds would be feeding the cat!

My cats used to regard next-door's bird table as a buffet, but they're mostly too well fed and lazy. Or busy with the mice under the summerhouse. They do at least keep the vegetable garden free of mice and the birds are very wary of going in there to help themselves to fruit at the moment as there are cats sleeping under the raspberry canes 😹

Mr SA has been out for ages minus the dog as it's too hot for her to go out. I've just phoned him to see where he is and his answer was 'shopping'. Yes you've guessed it he's bought yet another man bag 😐I said to him it's a pity he can't find as much enthusiasm to help in the house/garden as he has for looking for man bags.

What IS the obsession with man bags, @SA? It's fascinating, though probably not for you if 193 of the damn things are falling out of the wardrobe every time you open it!
