Sadly I have the cheese voucher but my mrL had none of the special cheese. It suddenly seems to be solely cheddar.

Me, my sister, 6 cousins and an aunt had afternoon tea on Saturday in honour of it being 100 years ago that grandma and pops got married. A wonderful catch-up was had. Sadly only the aunt had actual memories of pops as he died tragically young in a work-related accident.

SA, what a great idea to portion and freeze the beef joint.

What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?

    Afternoon all, happy Good Friday.

Forgot to switch off my alarm so it still went off at 4.30. I didn’t get up until 5.30 though.

When Mr SA finally got up and had his breakfast we went to Lid!. Definitely spent over £40, £63 in fact and that was with the £5 off, free nuts and free mini eggs. However I did buy a little hanging basket and some flowers so they accounted for almost £10. I realised last night when I was making the Spanish style butterbean stew that I didn’t have any butterbeans so used chickpeas instead. I stocked up on them plus tinned tomatoes, various types of beans, lentils, sweetcorn and passata. Plus several other things I use regularly. It was a good job I had an enormous carrier bag stashed on Mr SA’s scooter as everything didn’t fit in the two shopping bags I took with me. So we are well stocked up now and I’ll only have to buy fresh stuff for a while. It’s fair to say I won’t be picking up any veg boxes for a while 😆 Have now qualified for a free bakery item and free veg item, they can be picked up next week.

When we got back home I emptied out the under stairs cupboard completely. To say a lot of things went in the loft there was so much stuff! I’ve identified some things that can go in the loft and several tins of paint have gone in the shed. The cupboard looks loads better now and only has the things that are used regularly in it. There are still a few boxes to go through that need condensing down into smaller boxes so they’re easier to get into the loft and not so heavy. I’ll get DS to help when he visits tomorrow.

After lunch I had to shampoo the landing carpet as Mr SA had an accident last night and had left a trail of 💩 footprints 😞 I cleaned up as much as I could last night but it still needed going over properly. He had the cheek to accuse me of giving him food poisoning by undercooking his dinner last night. It had been in the slow cooker for 6 hours and was most definitely thoroughly cooked 😠

Then I did a live Zumba class. Step total just over 16,000 so far.

Next up is a pile of ironing.

Tonight’s dinner is another old favourite smoked basa, leeks and cauliflower with pearl barley.

I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)

    Excellent productivity 👏

And great to hear Mr SA will be cooking all his own food from now on 😂
