it sounds like you need a day off with a book or film and some nice snacks @jwil. Enjoy your day off…they don’t last long.
Does your DH see everything? Or can you bung stuff in the bin, or the boot for taking to the tip, when he’s not watching. MrWW doesn’t get the final say, but would definitely expect it…so I get a lot done when he isn’t there to supervise (his thoughts)/ interfere (my thoughts) 🙄. It saves arguing about it…they know they can’t be the boss of you, but it’s somehow ingrained in them to try at times 🤭Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

After doing the usual tidying around I took a look at it all and just couldn't face it.
DH remembers everything. He bought a good proportion of it! I do plan on seeing if I can start sneaking out some of the tat, and at least that would leave only the better quality branded stuff which probably is at least worth trying to sell.
I just need to start doing small things to reach that tipping point, whereas at the moment it's just too overwhelming looking at the big picture. I keep failing as there are games and toys with small bits missing, and I know we've got them, so can't get rid of it until I find it. So I wind up with a pile of stuff to go that can't go, and is still in the way of the stuff that still needs to be sorted!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Reading your diary Jwil - you said you were exhausted and then listed a whole load of things you were planning to do - maybe sometimes listen to your body and rest.
In your position I'd get rid of some stuff when DH isn't around to see. It sounds like it's the only way to make headway. I have always kept too much stuff though so sympathise with the other side of that coin. I find it really hard to let go of stuff but am grateful of the space once it's gone. I will try and get rid of some I think, but won't be able to get everything past."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee2 -

Feeling less tired today thankfully. We are meeting friends today so that will be nice. A visit to the farm shop for doughnuts is probably in hand as well, as the coronation doughnut will be ending tomorrow and it was lush!
I've tidied the kitchen and bathroom and just need to hoover round in case they come back here.
Payday tomorrrow, hurrah! So I need to do the financials at some point.
Have a good day everyone

The weather has been lovely, such a nice change!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee2 -
We've had a good day today, it was nice to catch up with friends.
I've booked me and the kids in for swimming tomorrow - little jwil will manage to get in for free before his membership runs out, so that's a bit of a saving.
I've also applied for little miss to go to Brownies, she seems keen and I think it will do her good. We tried to get little jwil into cubs when he was younger but the waiting lists are so long, we had no chance. Apparently there are spaces in this brownie group though and she will know one of the leaders as well so should make it easier for her."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do".
