Feeling a bit better today thankfully.
Guttering is due soon, so DH has been asked to deal with that, seeing as I deal with everything else. He knows more about it than I do anyway.
I need to tidy and clean around, as I didn't get a chance to do it yesterday. I keep thinking about painting the porch to use up some of the paint we bought for the kids bedrooms but I'd be reliant on DH emptying all his stuff out of there, so it probably won't happen without me giving him plenty of warning🙄.

Gutters are all sorted hurrah! Isn't it lovely when tradespeople get in touch and turn up when they say they will! We haven't got the bill yet, they said it would be sent this weekend, so at least we can get that paid and sorted.
I was playing with the pension AVC calculator with various amounts to see how much I could potentially get. It's not possible to put in large amounts at the moment, especially if I want to carry on getting stuff done to the house, but it's quite motivational to try and up my contribution gradually. I'm doing £30 a month at the moment, so might up that by £10 every few months if I can.
I've been pottering around this morning. We finally put the washing line up, and it's massiveIt will fit loads more on which is handy. Also chatted to a neighbour who is planning on cutting back some of his very overgrown trees and bushes which block our light, so that is good news. I don't expect it will be done any time soon, but it will be nice if it is done at some point. He's also planning on replacing a fence panel at the back which will give us some more privacy.
I've repotted a few houseplants today, in my new plain pots, they look much better than the old grotty ones. I need some more small ones though.
Tidied through as planned, just need to do the bathroom now.
I've made a nice big quantity of carrot and swede mash, so will either use it over the next few days or freeze some. I've also prepped a packet of pearl barley, and will freeze that in portions. I never get round to using it because it needs cooking for an hour, so at least if it's ready cooked, I can just throw a portion in."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". I agree re tradespeople and the relief when communication is good, they turn up as agreed and do a good job. Glad your gutters are done.
Thats a good idea re pearl barley, I sometimes make scotch broth and the mix which includes pb needs soaking and then boiling for about an hour and I often forget to soak it overnight so end up making something else.2 -

That's the problem I always have, I think about making something with pearl barley but don't have the hour free, so do without. Now I've got no excuse!
