Back to work today, ugh. I'm currently waiting for my laptop to do a million updates before I open everything as it will inevitably want a restart or two.
Padded my survey money this morning.
If it doesn't rain it pours, DH had a puncture on the way home from work last night, so new tyre needed there now. That car is becoming a money pit!
Very grateful that my bank gives a bit of leeway before incurring OD fees, as my NT membership came out of my account today, making me overdrawn (I thought I'd paid from a different account). Quickly shuffled the money to the correct place.
Better crack on. Have a good day everyone."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee4 -

So annoying about the tyre. The roads are dreadful right now so it’s hard to avoid 😖Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

Oh boo to the puncture - no chance of it being repairable I take it? Just look at you go with the PADs though - that's such a good start to the month!
WW I don't think I've ever seen the roads in a worse state - even the motorways over our side of the country are shocking.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Thanks both. Yes, the roads are shocking here too. No chance of repairing it sadly.
Another survey cashout means another slightly bigger PAD today. It definitely helps if I keep up with surveys!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee2 -

Thank goodness it's the end of the week! I haven't been sleeping well this week and I'm absolutely exhausted. Hopefully a better night tonight so I can have a bit of energy to do stuff tomorrow.
DH has had his tyre changed, and has booked the van in for a few things including the wipers. At least it will be roadworthy again!
We've had our quote from the guttering, nearly £700 for front and back. So we'll be getting that done. DH is hoping to salvage some of the old guttering for the garage as well, so if that's possible that will save us some future money.
I need to book the overdue boiler service, and also the dog and cat need to have their annual checkups and boosters. It's going to be another expensive month!
I'm trying to get back in the habit of doing one thing each day to improve the house. Doesn't need to be a big thing, just something to make life better. The hope is that eventually it will all add up to big improvements - small steps!
So this week I have:- Sorted through the packaging and removed items that have been there for ages and we haven't used, so therefore are unlikely to do so.
- Unpacked a box in our bedroom and put the stuff away
- Planted out a plant in the garden and thrown away a dead plant
- Small amount of weeding
- Taken down the new curtains for little miss's room and asked someone to adjust them so they hang better.
- Tidied the desk and sorted through the outstanding post.
Hopefully I can keep going with that. I'm more inclined to eat well in the warmer weather so hopefully the change in seasons will help as well.
My knee has been much less painful this week, I'm not sure if that's due to lack of use due to being back at work, but without the school runs, or whether it is improving. Hopefully the latter, but I'll find out next week.
I feel better for keeping up with surveys and being able to bump up my PADs a bit."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee2 -
In am like you & always eat better when it's warm.
