Thank goodness it's Thursday. This week has been challenging. Busy weekend ahead, so tomorrow I want to tidy round and make sure everything is ready for the carpet fitter next week. Exciting!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee2

We spent the weekend in Cornwall. Lovely to get away for a bit, if not very wet on Saturday! We did get the odd bit of sunshine though.

Today it's very much back to reality with a bump.
Work has been a nightmare, and today was awful. At home we were expecting a call from someone to look at our roof/guttering and of course they haven't called. That's the second we've tried who haven't got back to us. And so it starts again trying to find tradespeople.
On Friday I finished little miss's room, hurrah! And gloss painted all the woodwork in little jwil's room. Done a bit backwards, but I thought it would be best done as we'd be away for a weekend and he'd not have to sleep in it for a couple of days, give time for the smell/fumes to dissipate a bit.
Unfortunately there's a big damp patch in his room. We thought the gutters were blocked, so cleared them again, however the damp patch hasn't cleared, hence trying to find someone to look at the roof/guttering. There's no point in painting that wall/ceiling until it's sorted and dried out. I can at least paint the other walls though, so little jwil can still get some of his room sorted.
Little miss moved into hers last night. She's very happy with it. She's not allowed to move much in the way of toys in until the carpet is done though. I also need to find some curtains for her.
The final prices for various bills for the new year are coming in now, and I'm starting to worry just how much everything is going up. We're very fortunate in that we can probably cover it all ok, but there's not going to be a lot spare which is so disappointing, especially as we've just started doing the work on the house. It's quite gutting to think it may have to stall again. I need to do a new SOA taking into account the changes so I know better where we stand.
Roll on Thursday evening, as I'll be on leave for a week and a bit!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee1 -
