The difference between water resistant and waterproof always trips me up. Water resistant are ok for showers, but not for a good soaking I think. It’s the same for coats. Possibly some comfy walking boots might be better than trainers? I have some good ones I got for walking the dog which are just like chunky trainers. Very comfortable, but I can’t drive in them as the soles are much too thick. Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

Ahh yes - I'd forgotten that you were a fellow "Thursday is the new Friday" person - great isn't it!
I had to buy new walking shoes recently and ended up paying a little more than usual for a pair of M3rrell branded ones - now they really are impressively waterproof - and are also trainer style so lovely and comfy too. My trainers are mostly for either the gym or running (yes, shhhh...it will happen again!) and so I work on the basis that mostly my feet just get wet if it's raining!(SA - the M3rrells came from Sp0rts D1rect if that helps).

Sun_Addict said:I can highly recommend bio oil. When I had an operation on my ankle the hospital recommended it and it really reduced the scarring, you can barely see the marks now. I'm looking for some waterproof trainers as I walk to work and hate sitting there with wet feet so will be interested to see what you think.
I'll let you know about the trainers!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee3 -

I've never heard of Merrell, so I'll have a look and bear it in mind if these aren't great."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee3 -
These are the ones I bought - Skechers https://smile.amazon.co.uk/Skechers-Womens-Outdoor-Sneaker-Black/dp/B08QJNQFXM/ Fingers crossed! My feet were soaked this morning, and I think that's because the sole has gone on my current ones."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". DH has just informed me that he's booked off tomorrow. He thought it would be nice for us to have the day together. Yes, I agree, but part of me is thinking, darn, I was looking forward to a bit of time to myself! Ugh, had a rough night last night, and don't feel great today. Sod's law it's always on the day off!
We booked a summer holiday last night, first time ever for us with the kids! We normally go for weekends out of season. We are heading to bonny Scotland for a week. Can't waitProbably why I felt rough, the shock of spending that much
I think we've got the glamour of a tip run today and the kids are back to swimming tonight.
Have a good day everyone"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee4 -
I hope you feel better.
How lovely to have a holiday to look forward to. Whereabouts in Scotland are you going? Before I moved here I had no idea how big it was. You get to the border and think ‘ooh that was quick’ and then it just goes on for ever and ever 😬Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien
