I did walk yesterday despite the rain!  So I'm proud of myself.  My knee is aching again which is all my own fault for getting lazy.  I'm not going to let it stop me walking this morning though.  I am trying to consider myself 'someone who walks the children to school' rather than it being something I should do.  I've got an audiobook to keep me interested while walking as well.  For now, I'm focussing on the morning commute only, I'll tackle the afternoons later, but I only pick them up on three days max anyway depending on what clubs and other stuff is going on.

It's my long day today and I have a very rare day of no meetings!  Heaven!  I hopefully can really get stuck in and concentrate.  (I've probably jinxed that now!).

Have a good day everyone :)

I know something I meant to ask.  Does anyone have any experience with scar reduction creams? Do they work or are they a waste of money?

Little miss is a picker, she picks scabs and spots continuously.  Her legs look like she's got constant chicken pox or something because of the marks on them.  I think the colder weather where I've been insistent she wears leggings or tights has helped to prevent most of the picking so they are largely healed now, but I was wondering whether to try and heal/fade the marks.

:D:D  Everyone's diaries are so much more interesting than they think!

Podcasts are a good idea too, I'll consider those, thank you.

    Thank you, I'll have a look :)

@jwil happy new year! I have subscribed and am so looking forward to cheering you on.   Last May I was diagnosed as diabetic; blood sugar was at a worryingly high level.  Am now in the pre-diabetic category and hope to reduce it down to 'normal'.  I've always had a problem with celebrities promoting diets as I simply didn't believe a word they said.  Add to that the judgment around weight in general and I felt defensive.   However when  a sensible doctor told me to lose weight and the diabetes nurse talked it through, I did what I'd always resisted before and went on a low-carb diet.  It has been amazing.  I do hope this isn't coming across as bossy but just wanted to share what's worked.  A few years ago I was 5 stone overweight so am in no position to lecture anyone.  Love your diary and am convinced that you're on the home run Humdinger xx

PS how about Bio Oil for scars? Works a treat with stretch marks and other things too.

Well done on losing all the weight and reversing your diabetes! That's amazing.  Not bossy at all, it's always nice to hear what has worked for other people.  I don't think I could go fully low carb, but I definitely can reduce them significantly, particularly the processed ones!  I'm trying to do at least half a plate of veg, with smaller quantities of  protein and wholegrain carbs, but it's the battle against convenience which I find challenging, especially when I'm busy.

Thanks for the bio oil recommendation too, I'll have a look :)

I ordered some new trainers yesterday.  They are meant to be waterproof, I really hope so! Fed up with getting wet feet in the rain, especially when I've got to sit in them all day at work.

Today is my Friday :)  It's been a lovely short week at work :D:D   I've got two days leave to take before the end of the month, so must try and find some suitable dates.

Have a good day everyone :)

I can highly recommend bio oil. When I had an operation on my ankle the hospital recommended it and it really reduced the scarring, you can barely see the marks now. I'm looking for some waterproof trainers as I walk to work and hate sitting there with wet feet so will be interested to see what you think.
