Happy March! Spring is on the way. Let's hope we soon get some sun and a bit of warmer weather.
Most of the DDs have come out now, so it's easier to see what's left for the month. I'm hoping to bump up some savings with the CTAX and water normal payments. I need to book the boiler service, but touch wood, nothing big is due this month.

You've started March positively on the PAD front I see - well done! That February total was great for a short month too - in real terms that effectively beat January didn't it!
Good work on the pension thing too - you've reminded me that I was going to start feeding a bit extra into mine each month - I might start with matching your £30 from any spends account surplus I have, as that seems as good a figure as any. Well done on adding to your pension. I've just finished your old diary, now need to catch up on your new one. It is very inspiring, I want to be you when I grow up"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Well I spoke too soon on the cheaper month. DH's car broke down this morning and had to be recovered to the garage. It's not entirely unexpected as it was already booked in for a diagnosis as it had been playing up, but still very inconvenient.
He thinks the bill could be as much as £1k so there goes the water and Council tax savings. At least we can cover it though.
The kids were quite distressed this morning when they heard. Luckily he wasn't on a hugely busy road. Little miss offered to give him her £10 towards a new car. Bless her. Little jwil was so worried about him, he gets quite anxious about stuff anyway. We had a long chat about how these things happen and we always manage to sort them out. It was an opportunity to chat about budgeting and how we try and save for these things. Once again, it was nice not to have the panic that this would have caused a couple of years ago."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do".
