I've got some buttercup syrup, wouldn't have occurred to me to do that. The vet did suggest honey though which I haven't tried yet - thanks for the reminder. She's coughing less today unless she's moving around, so she's on the mend thankfully."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Happy Friday, it's looking like it's going to be a bright and sunny day today
It's rug day too, so that should be arriving any time now. That means I need to move DH's piles of stuff and give the carpet a good hoover before I put it down. I'm hoping it will brighten up the front room nicely.
I've been catching up with some admin type stuff this morning, including the paperwork for little jwil's new school. That's all been posted now."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee4 -

The rug looks great, it really brightens up the room and makes it look cleaner as well. I moved the one that had been in there to the middle room as well, so that's covered up another large portion of the carpet and makes that look brighter too.
I took advantage of the piles of stuff being moved to give it all a good hoover (twice) and sprayed it all with flea spray as a preventative measure in case there's anything lurking from last year.
One box of toys moved up to little jwil's room, stuff he wants to keep.
I emptied the cupboard under the sink, and gave everything a good clean. It's all out in the garden drying off and airing, as there was stuff that was still damp from the leaky taps a while back. I've had to bin some stuff, and also chosen to bin some that has been in there for years that we just aren't using. Tomorrow I'll go through it all, some can go to the shed/porch, and I'll identify what can be used up fairly quickly. I want to get it to a stage where there's just a couple of things in there that we actually use regularly. I might see if I can persuade DH to do a tip run as we've got quite a lot to get rid of stored up in the shed already.
I've also spent some time in the garden today, making a start on the weeding, and making a start on building up the 'stone wall' that will go around the tyres we are using as planters. Once I've finished that and filled the tyres, I will be planting them with wildflower seeds to have a mini meadow.
Today has been the sort of productive day I was hoping the whole of the holidays would have been. It's a shame it didn't happen, but I might risk booking some time off for half term to have another go.
