I was overweight when my knee started hurting but x-rays showed bony spurs due to arthritis. My dad who wasn't overweight had the same thing and so does my sister. You may need to lose weight in the future if it gets bad enough to need a replacement operation (I did, my sister didn't) but you need to find out what you're dealing with first. Mine started hurting as we went into lockdown so I thought resting it was a good idea in case it was ligament damage. Wrong.

You could also ask the doctor for a physio referral so that you can be given exercises to strengthen your leg muscles so that they will support your knee more.

Thank you, that's really useful. I think leg exercises will be useful as my thigh muscles hurt too and that perhaps is due to compensating for the knee.

Happy payday!  I need to do the financials and all of my totalising for the month.

DH has finally removed the remainder of the stuff from the small room, so I'm going to go and get some paint.  This will just be plain paint to do the ceiling, base coat and woodwork, and I'll let the kids choose their colours later.  Hopefully I'll be able to do the filling and prep today as well.  My knee is painful so I'll see how it goes.

Well that's a pretty good start to the year with the financials and the declutter list!

My final default has dropped off my credit file, so my record is now clear!  (not that it matters, but still...)
I did have a F&F offer from my largest creditor but it was only around £900 off so I don't have sufficient funds to do that.

I've got an appointment with a muscle-skeletal specialist next week for my knee so that's good.

Today I have done most of the prep for the small room - filling and sanding.  I did manage to set the smoke alarms off with the dust!  I was wearing goggles and a face mask and did open all the windows.  Just need to wash down everything then I can paint.  I did get the paint this morning.

    Back to work tomorrow.  Joy!
