Good Morning chums a little damp drizzle here at the moment in the Medway area, but due to be brighter later. I was going to have a short walk to the library today to return a book, so I thinkI will wait for it to dry up a bit.
I am doing very short walks as I can if possibly daily. Yesterday i walked to my local shops to buy of all things a scrubbing brushas I can't find my old one for the life of me (mind you it was pretty ancient and beginning to look decidedly bald in places). My lovely grandson walked some mud in from the garden a few days ago and I was waiting for it to dry then to give the muddy bits a scrub ,well I shan't do it my eldest DD said she would as I'mnot very bendy at the moment still have some stitches in my midriff that haven't come out yet.
I walked over and back and it only takes about 10 -15 minutes and that was more than enough I had to sit for half an hour with a cuppa to recover. My eldest DD is quite stern, and said " Mum remember how old you are, you are not going to bounce back as you used to so do things at a slower pace for a few more weeks "
I know she's right but I hate all this sitting around when I can see things I want to do ,but I will obey the voice of sense and behave(well as much as I can anyway )
Yesterday evening my youngest DD picked me up and took me to her house as at the moment I'm not driving anywhere, the I do agree with as the muscles in my tummy would certainly give me gyp if I had to stop suddenly for what even reason, and I certainly don't want to cause an accident for myself or anyone else.
But I had a lovely roast beef dinner perfectly cooked by my son-in-law Simon bless him he really is a super cook. Three of my grandsons were home Ben, Jack and Mikey so we had a lovely family meal .The other brother Henry is in Cornwall at a music festival until today. He will be home today as its their Mum and Dads wedding anniversary and the boys have clubbed together to get them a nice present of theatre tickets for a London show next month, and I have popped enough into her account for them to enjoy a nice evening meal out when they go. The boys are such nice lads and adore their parents and are very kind hearted young men.
My eldest DD's wedding anniversary was yesterday and she and her husband are down at their caravan in Deal until later today
They too had some cash from so they could have a meal out last night . Hard to buy of those two as they seem to have almost every thing but then they have been married 35 years and what can you buy thats coral ? Plus I'm not really into trundling round the shops at the moment .
But apart from that I seem to be getting over things and I certainly don't miss the drain at all, just as my eldest says "slowly ,slowly catches monkey Mum 'Bless her I know she means well.
I'll hopefully soon be back to 'normal' again
Onwards and upwards chums

It's nice to hear you're on good form Jackie, and gently getting back in to your routineI'm unsure about my spine, I think it's holding me back.7

Jackie, a friend recently had a major op. He was so weak afterwards that he could scarcely walk from one room to another, but he forced himself to get out every day and slowly increased the distance. Now he’s back to full fitness. It takes time but you will get there!10

Glad you're on the mend Jackie!

Had a short walk across to the chemist to pick up my blood thinners, as I went to line up I spotted my friends husband Brian, so gave him a nudge,
and he was so pleased to see me, and while I waited for my meds he went to the car park and fetched my friend from the car, and we then went and had a cuppa at our local Boyces bakers which has some tables and chairs outside.
It was lovely to see them and sit and have a natter in the sunshine, and they will pick me up next Tuesday and take me to Dobbies as I'm not yet gone back driving yet. Pat and Brian are two of the 'Tuesday morning coffee at Dobbies' friends, so next week it will be nice to meet up with my pals again after a four week break. So a little bit of normality at last.
This afternoon eldest DD turned up with my washing all done dried and ready to wear ,she's such a good lass (they both are ) she is off at the end of next week to see her first little granddaughter Daisy, who was born last month in New York where her parents (my grandson Danny and his wife) live. Bless her she is so excited and looking forward to it immensely.
So all in all a good day, and I'm hoping once the stitches are out I will be even more mobile around the house.
Onwards and upwards

Hi everyone I am a bit more mobile than I was and this week on Monday went to my book club at the library, first time since before Christmas.
Then yesterday went to my Tuesday morning coffee morning and both times drove . I do start to flag a little after lunch and find carrying things a bit uncomfortable
I have to see my surgeon on 5th October so I'm hoping he will give me a clean bill of health and sign me off.I had the cardio clinic last week and the nurse is pleased with my progress I have an echo this friday and depending on that may not have to go for another 6 months or so. I have AF but was born with it and have survived OK for a good few decades
I can only eat small amounts at a time so 3-5 very small meals a day as opposed to one main meal and a couple of snack.Apparently its more digestible once your gall bladder is removed.I was told it would take a bit longer to recover because of my age so just have to be a patient patient again
Apart from that all is well and I potter around quite a bit indoors and read a lot. I've almost finished the third unicorn blanket for my great granddaughter
The first one went with my daughter a few weeks ago to New York for the new little baby great-granddaughter out there
They take around two months to knit as the pattern is a little complicated. But knits up to a single sized blanket .My two other great granddaughters spotting me making one asked if I'd make them one each so I've almost finished them.
They will go with some books and clothes for their Christmas parcels. The two little girls are fascinated that Granny knits and last year had a nice long scarf each with little heart pattern on it which they both love..
I enjoy knitting and it keeps my hands and arms mobile and its something I can do while watching tv or I'd just fall asleep
The second crop of potatoes are in planted by my grandsons, so winter spud should be available by November at least.
I'm still eating down some of my tinned stuff and freezer and getting a good bit of wriggle room in the latter, but it will be good as hopefully my DD's and my house will go on the market after Christmas.
Today I have some cottage pies to batch cook as I dug most of the ingredients out of the freezer last night and I also want to make a creme caramel to go in the fridge for a couple of days puddings.
Next week the decorator is due to paint my conservatory and kitchen so I want to make sure I have plenty of meals I can just zap in the microwave and stay out of his way so he can get on with it
Hope everyone is Ok and enjoying the late summer we finally have got, I must admit its been a little too warm for me ,but I do have a close association with a large fan in my sitting room that helps
Onwards and upwards chums have a good day only around 99 days until Christmas ! ! ! where has this year vanished to

Hi chums, well bit of a nuisance, but I'm back in hospital again. I was blue- lighted in on Friday afternoon after being really poorly all of last week. Dreadful tummy ache, and couldn't eat without being doubled up again.
I arrived at 5.00 and spent the next 22 hours on a trolley, and had another operation on Saturday night.
My left femoral artery hernia had gone seriously wrong, and was 'incarcerated' which, if they hadn't operated on it would have led to sepsis, so I was definitely one lucky old lady.
Didn't feel lucky stuck on a trolley though.
I was parked in the emergency surgeon's assessment office until they could find a space to operate in theatre, then was taken to recovery until Sunday night as the hospital actually had no spare bed space, but at least I was off the trolley and on a bed, albeit in the recovery room.
Opposite me on Friday night was a room with six patients sleeping in armchairs, as again not enough beds. There are 588 beds in our local hospital, to cope with over half a million population in the Medway area.
Sunday night they finally found a space on a ward, and after getting here I have had various problems.
I have a small heart problem which I was born with, and very low blood pressure so the nurse said wiggle your rear end up the bed and I'll raise the foot level, and drop the head bit down, so me being an absolute plank I pushed down with both feet to get further up the bed , not a great idea, as something went twang ! ! and I had pulled a muscle in my groinwhich shot me up in the air as its jolly painful, I had forgotten that putting pressure to push with the side I had only just been operated on wasn't a great idea) .
Then yesterday morning when the nurse was doing the early morning blood pressures, we discovered that from my knee to my groin I had developed zero feeling and cannot put any weight on it at all.So I have been bed bound since my op. last Saturday.
They are not too sure if I've sustained nerve damage there or not.
I had to go for another CT scan last night, and the scan man arrived at 10.00pm.
Dr said this morning she wants me to have an ultra sound scan as well today, and he's not arrived yet so I can't even snuggle down to sleep just yet in case he turns up.
As they say its 24/7 in hospitals so he could turn up when ever.
All in all not a great week really. Then at 04,25 am my youngest DGS Mikey texted me from his pals phone to say he had dropped and broken his.
Quite what he expected his 'Magic Nanny' could do to help in the early hours of the morning when I'm in hospital and he's 70 odd miles away in Essex.but to a 19 year old the demise of his mobile is a major disasterWhat joy I'm having this week. I've managed to get his older brother Ben to loan him his old phone until he can get the screen fixed on his broken one. Bens coming home to Kent this weekend, so I'll get him to post it to Mikey. Best I can think to help out at short notice.
Its ll good fun one way and another, I don't get time to be bored thats for sure
Onwards and upwards chums
