Just wondering....Soot is black so possibly British shorthair. I wouldn't be surprised if one of his parents was Burmese as they are very agile and into everything. Nothing was safe from ours - she could even open drawers. Her other parent was a Korat but a lot of cross breeds are black as was our naughty Sarah. We have to have a mix of food for our remaining cat (pure bred Korat) as if it's something that she likes she eats it so fast that it generally reappears soon after but Sarah was a master of food theft just like Soot (are frozen prawns the cat version of human ice cream I wonder - they vanished into thin air apparently). Maybe diluting the food that makes Soot poorly in small quantities with something he likes a little less would enable you to use it up?5

Sorry to hear about the palaver Foxgloves, totally rubbish and unnecessary upset, as if these procedures aren't nerve wracking enough.7

What a carve up at the hospital. Keep your chin up I am sure they willsort themselves out soon and then they can give you a proper appointment.

foxgloves. My sister bought me a socker's rule, which if you haven't seen them, is a wooden sole-shaped measure like a ruler, but better, as it slips down to the turned heel & allows for really easy, accurate foot measurement. Couldn't believe I'd never seen these before.F6

Sorry to hear about the wasted hospital appointment and quite understandable that you are upset.
To try and put a smile on your face, maybe weigh yourself. The preparatory enema has a wonderful cleansing effect that lasts days!Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

That’s so disappointing regarding your procedure, especially as the prep and the worry beforehand are so unpleasant. Like others, I have been there when the consultant on the day changes the decisions that were made by other doctors. It has happened twice to me now so I am wondering if it isn’t all that unusual.Hope you can have a good day today to make up for yesterday. On another note I must thank you for the reminder about using the bottled apple purée that I had stashed away. I hope I can remember how to do it again this year. It is delicious and I only used a little cinnamon as the sweetener.Take care8

Sorry to hear about the appointment mate, I would've been absolutely blimmin fuming. Hopefully it was the universe intervening to prevent something worse happening, but all the same, grrr! Onwards and upwards. After a reasonable length of time on the sofa with comfort food and a bottle of wine x8

Thanks everyone for the sympathy. I'm still annoyed at the waste of a morning & being no further forward, but I talked to my sister-in-law, who used to be a nurse in that department & she said that there is a less risky procedure for people like me. She wasn't at all surprised the procedure didn't go ahead. Generally, communications from the hospital have been really good, but with various departments now having been involved in solving the mystery of the Foxgloves insides, I think a vital piece of info probably was not fully conveyed. I expect to hear from someone this week, as was told that it would be 'sorted out'.
Aiming for a productive week ahead on the money saving front, but will also be treating myself kindly.
I did appreciate so many people popping by with nice supportive comments, so thank-you.

Sorry you were messed about at the hospital. I’ve found communicating between NHS departments isn’t all it could be to say the least. It’s the bland diet and drinking all the prep and it’s after effects that I find worse than the actual procedure as every time (and I’ve had many in every direct over the years) I’ve had meds to relax me whilst they do the deed with the camera. Hope they don’t leave you waiting too long whilst they decide whatever they do next. I’ve had a phone consultation with the stoma nurse this morning. I’m having a camera in a couple of weeks…..they’ve had to wait for a particular clinician and I’ve been on holiday…hence the delay. Anyway the nurse from the endoscopy dept told me to request certain equipment so I’m ready for the effects of the prep…..stoma nurse got back to me this morning after my request for said stuff and she said no…..she’d sent me something better to use. One hand doesn’t know what the other is doing. I’m hoping the stoma nurse knows best 🤞 Just a bit of advice….if they offer you something to relax you - take it. An old consultant gave me this advice many years ago and I’ve always taken it 👍January spends - £587.587
