Oh no, hopefully it isn't as bad as you think. I guess it's best to find out now and tackle it rather than when you come to sell and the buyer wants a hefty reduction. Stay strong.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2

There are ways through everything and you are the MSE-Fu Master of adaptability and creative thinking. Let yourself have some time to understand all the facts, get a 2nd opinion if you feel it might be necessary, talk it through with Mr FG, ask here if you think it would be helpful and allow the back of your head (once the shock has dispersed) work on it.
If this ^^ requires taking a pile of coats, a hot water bottle & going to sit in the shed with a box over your head to achieve, then so be it.

Sending sympathy from a lurker on your diary.
Hopefully a solution can be found.

Ugh - hopefully it will turn out to not be as bad as feared - but also yes, you CAN face adversity together, you DO have the EF for this very reason, and yep, you are a strong and resilient woman! Keeping fingers crossed for you. Another coffee will probably help, too...foxgloves said:Thanks for your comments & support. Another significant problem has occured & we don't as yet know if it's connected to the roof situation. Investigations today. Only 2 hours sleep as feeling very stressed. Just having a coffee & trying to get my "I am a strong & resilient woman" head on. Mr F's day off today so at least we can face adversity together 😟

Thanks for all your supportive comments. I am not in the shed cutting eye-holes in cardboard boxes. In fact, I have just had some toast & coffee. What a saga & thoroughly peculiar end to yesterday, but thankfully, it does now seem to be sorted out & at an acceptable price. I need to have a big tidy up now so don't have time to go into detail, although I know we like weird happenstances on here, so will try to remember to update at some point. Roofers still hard at it & making good progress. Missing the cats.

So relieved it was an acceptable price. Shame about the cardboard boxes though - I was getting hints of masked singer here ...

Glad it's been reasonably resolved but what a faff and worry, on top of all the big works going on.
Could you book yourself into the cattery too?!
A bowl of wine, regular biscuits, and soothing head scritches sounds just the job

Wow, so many comments, I knew something had happened. Really hope it resolves itself and in the meantime, channel Scarlet O'Hara and tie your metaphorical bonnet on. If you don't yet know the scope, it is the wrong time to plan everything (which your brain is no doubt in overdrive on, planning all the what-if scenarios). If you can think about that tomorrow, you might just get some sleep though xSave £12k in 2025 #2 I saved £14,660.97 of £6000 or 244.35% of my target. The 2026 Save £12k in 2026 thread is here
