Well, the sun has set on ANOTHER problem. I am indeed having to channel my inner Scarlet O'Hara, though haven't yet cut up any old velvet curtains to sew into a bewitching frock. I will be heartily glad when this week is over, that's for sure.
What a saga! Thanks for all your supportive comments.

I hope you get a good night’s sleep, Foxgloves, and that the problem is easily resolved tomorrow.2

No doubt that's tomorrow's job. After all, didn't she say 'Tomorrow is another day '? You are utterly magnificent @foxglovesfoxgloves said:I am indeed having to channel my inner Scarlet O'Hara, though haven't yet cut up any old velvet curtains to sew into a bewitching frock.

Thanks both - not feeling at all magnificent as have been awake since 4.10am fretting about discovery of the additional problem last night. Have been assured it will be sorted out today at no cost to ourselves, so all I can really do is get on & try to have a reasonably useful day. And if 'useful' turns out to mean reading & playing the piano to keep my stress levels under control, then so be it!
I did manage to do my mid-month budget check-in yesterday which provided helpful reassurance that the funds I moved to pay for the roofing work are in place rtg.
Right, am going to get moving. The roofers will be here at 8am & I don't know yet when I'm expecting this other emergency workman.
Dear Mr F ensured I was fortified with toast & coffee before he set off for work & am now bracing myself for what today might bring, as so far, there has been a new problem every day. If I get round to including a resume on my diary, you'll all need to sit down with a cafetiere & packet of digestives 😐

I hope no new problems today Foxgloves and the new one is easily resolved. Piano playing and reading sounds like a good plan - it's impossible to get much done with workmen in, I find. Bet the stress isn't helped by not having furries to stroke - but a wise decision to move them out for the duration if they're happy enough going to the cattery. (My two found the cattery so stressful that it's not an option, but it's very hard when we have workmen in, as for the heatpump recently.)Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Hope today turns out to be stress free. If I was you I would make a pot of coffee, grab a slice of cake, put on some relaxing music and log into P/fc. XMaking the debt go down and savings go up

She did, but the one I was thinking of was " I can't think about that right now. If I do, I'll go crazy. I'll think about that tomorrow."Humdinger1 said:
