I haven't been here in ages. Might even be a couple of years! I started this year doing Dry January, and then it just progressed from there. And I haven't had a single drink all year.
I'm mixed about it. One day I feel on top of the world and that I will never drink again. Then I think, ooh, wouldn't one be nice?
I think ultimately I'm happier not drinking than when I was drinking and even though I was able to (semi)control it, I fear that if I start again, I will slip back into old habits and at the moment, it is just easier to not drink at all. I can't really "just have one" and I've accepted that about myself.
I feel more in control and like the freedom of being able to drive whenever I want, picking my daughters up from places, instead of longing for the time when I didn't have to drive, so that I could have that glass of wine that was waiting for me at home.Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010
