Hello Ladies,
My new Great grandson was born just over a week ago
I went to visit family yesterday and I held him for the first time.
So great to celebrate with 4 generations of my family.3 -
@sugarbaby125 congratulations!
I hope everything is well with everyone.Recently went to have a lesion removed from my forehead and now I have a massive cut on my head. They put dissolvable stitches in it. About 3 days after the procedure, the local anaesthetic made my eye go puffy and bruised and I looked awful. My eye has got better now, but my cut is still quite prominent. The hospital think I had Basal Cell Carcinoma, which is a minor type of skin cancer, but I am waiting for the results of the biopsy.I was working from the office on Monday and I found it quite draining to be honest.Speak soon.XxStriving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £26,322.675 -
@Abbafan1972 Similar but equally very different, after an accident I ended up with stiches across an eyelid and into the forehead. The bruising was worse than anything i had imagined and it took a very long time to go down. I remember being so tired too at that time that I couldn't cook or anything other than drag myself to work.
I just wanted to reassure you the bruising goes down eventually and I was told by the plastic surgeon that repaired my face to be really careful in the sun afterwards and i suspect that is a tip you might not have been given. Apparently as the skin heals it will be really sensitive to sun around the cuts.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!5 -
So tired, and really want to just run away. Am exhausted. 61 years old and still working full time on building a business. I sat in an orchard last night with half a bottle of wine and realised I just wanted to run away from everything.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

@Watty1 maybe time for a new direction in life. I definitely wound down from 60 and still not retired fully yet officially another 2 years to get my state pension.Anything is better than nothing-check back and see

Abbafan. I had a basal carcinoma removed in 2006. The bruising and swelling does take a while, in my case I would say about 4 months, although I was able to hide the worst with make up after about three weeks, but eventually you should be left with just a thin white scar which will be hardly noticeable. My surgeon did a great job and my scar is almost invisible. No one ever notices it.I second the advice to take extra care in the sun. One thing I did notice, but wasn't warned about, was that the area (it was on my right cheek) became very sensitive to cold weather. I used to have to cover it with a scarf sometimes because it was quite painful. This sensitivity lasted for a couple of winters but it's fine now.Watty. Sorry to hear you are feeling so low. I would suggest you see a GP to rule out any health issues which could be impacting your energy levels. 61 is still young and excessive tiredness could be a red flag. Then I agree with Watty - it might be time for some lifestyle changes. Also maybe ask yourself some questions, what is it you really want out of life. Are you concentrating your energies in the right direction, are you trying to do too much. Do you need help and more support.There is such a thing as "Superwoman Syndrome". I have been guilty of this, trying to be all things, spreading myself too thin. My mum once gave me a good talking to about this, warned me that I needed to rethink my life before it was too late. Wise lady, my mum.My husband used to have a wonderful saying "why have a dog and bark yourself". In other words you don't have to do and be everything. Don't be afraid to ask for help, even if you have to pay for it. And, you don't have to be perfect. Good enough, is good enough.I'm loving my new treadmill. Using it daily, plus daily yoga stretches and resistance training with a resistance band And small hand weights. Still eating very healthily (most of the time😂), sleeping very well. Enjoying the sunshine when I can. It's working, feeling so much better, more energy, less muscle and joint pain. I am just about to mow the lawns.For Fab Friday I'm having my hair cut then meeting a friend for lunch. And on Sunday a belated birthday celebration ........
Stay Fabulous Everyone. Have a great weekend. ❤️8 -

Definitely agree with the advice about the sun protection. I am quite paranoid about that as my Grandmother had skin cancer and she was fair with my natural red/blonde hair like me. My husband works with a man who just got diagnosed with skin cancer as well.
I am too thinking about my husband retiring. I am getting increasingly sick of his shift working pattern. We will have been together 30 years this October and the constant changing of hours from week to week is really starting to bother me.
I am going out this weekend to see a film, go to a restaurant and then go to a summer party at a pop-up bar in London.:) I need to colour my roots first. I got a pedicure a couple of weeks ago with a dark pink colour I really like.
I really need to get some photos done this weekend too as I am trying to apply for the CEA card Sugarbaby told me about. It gives you discounts at the cinema and we have been going there a lot since we moved as the cinema in Southend is just a short bus ride away now. I need to renew my passport too.

Hi all and thank you for your kind words.@Watty1 really hope you feel better soon.Regarding the sun - yes I am very careful and I hate sunbathing anyway. I always put loads of sun cream on and cover up as much as possible. My eye is totally better now, thank god. My cut just gets dry, so I have been putting moisturiser on it.We have been discussing retirement here as well, although I am only 51 but hubby is 56. Our Mortgage is due to officially finish in Dec 2028 but we plan to get it finished by early 2027 and then hubby will think about retiring or semi retiring. His job is quite demanding and when the mortgage is finished , he will be able to get something part time, that’s less stressful.It’s blooming raining here is Birmingham. So no walk for me.Speak soon. xxStriving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £26,322.674
