Lovely to hear from you Toni's friend. You have made terrific progress today, give yourself a pat on the back. Re the nails, it could well be a side effect of your medication. They should recover in time. The same thing happened to my husband, I clipped them short and treated them with nail conditioner.❤️4

Nails done. Not perfect but much better looking. I found I had lots of pots and tubes of hand cream which are now deposited in the rooms all over the house within easy reach so no excuse for not using them. I think you're right helensbiggestfan. I've had so much done to me over the last few months that it has probably had an adverse effect on my nails, skin, etc. Of course, the fact that I had also lost all interest in everything else and was neglecting self care didn't help.
So after my shower this morning I did all the things I did yesterday plus I had a go at doing something with my hair. Again, not perfect but definitely an improvement. And I am currently sitting here with actual clothes on rather than PJs.
Just had a lovely bouquet of flowers delivered from a friend who has just found out that I haven't been so well. I only see her twice a year when I'm on holiday so I'm really feeling quite overwhelmed.
Having the rest of Himself's chill tonight with a jacket potato and we've been through our large freezer to meal plan for the next few days. Loads in there. I don't think we'll need much shopping for a while.
Just off to watch an old Midsommer Murder and relax.
Have a lovely evening. xxxHave adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.5 -
Hello Ladies,
Toni's Friend well done on your fabbing today.
As well as my 3 types of Arthritis, Hypertension, and other health issues, I also have a life limiting condition which means daily medication. I struggle to keep my fingernails, they keep ending up brittle and break frequently. I still persevere with lots of No7 Nourishing nail and cuticle care, No7 strength and growth treatment and copious amounts of Dove hand cream. I just try to keep my broken nails from further breakages, but sometimes fail despite my efforts. I just make the best of my short nails.

Morning Fabster Girls/Ladies,
My nails too are a bit shot at at this time. Could be age as wellI have got some nail hardener from my parents house( as they have already moved out) and mum has for many years used Sally Hansen nail hardener. I am in the throws of using up her left overs. It seems to be working well. I also change the product weekly (using up several bottles of nail varnish remover is really the task) and give my nails a daily rest before putting on a new coat. Why are we so bad at not looking after ourselves? We should make it more part of the job of looking after.
Thanks @Toni'sfriend for reminding us and welcome

So, today I got some new bras delivered. The ones I had were too tight. I don't know if this is because I'm a bit "out of shape" just now, my skin is a bit more sensitive, I was wearing the wrong size to begin with or a combination of all three. Anyway, it got me thinking I should maybe make a list of things that I want to do when the treatment is complete (sooner, if applicable). A wish list if you like. So, here is the beginning, To be added to as and when
- Get measured for a bra professionally. Very important, I think.
- Hair cut and coloured. Maybe try a new style?
- Have a professional manicure. Nothing fancy, No nail extensions etc. Just to get them looking nice
- Get my eyebrows done. Definitely can't manage that by myself just now but maybe one of younger ladies around here might be able to help out temporarily
- Eye test and new glasses. This is overdue but the optician advised leaving it till we see what long term care/medication might be need as this can affect prescription
- Have a little weekend break somewhere close by
- Go to my favourite restaurant
- Go to see a film
- Go to the theatre
- Plant some flowers

Hello Ladies,
Toni's Friend, you have really thought this all through really well. It sounds like a great plan. It is good to have things that you enjoy and make you feel good to look forward to.
Some of my bras are not fitting as well, since I lost a stone in weight, but as I need to lose more weight, I will manage with them until they are unwearable, then treat myself to some new bras.5 -
That is a lovely list Toni's Friend. 🥰
My fingernails are terrible at the moment. I was looking at nail strengthening products online yesterday. Mine get weak in the winter especially as I wash my hands so frequently having 3 pets in the house.4 -
@Toni'sfriend that is a great list to head for. Well though out. Maybe some early flowers, summer flowers and autumn flowers so they will take you all through 2023. A hand massage when you get your nails done too.

Love that list @Toni'sfriend I have had my nails done a couple of times and filing them into a nice shape makes such a difference. I'm looking at my dirty chipped and broken nails and thinking now there is a plan for me tooMade it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!4 -
Oh a hand massage
. That's added to the list. Redid my nails today. I found that my Christmas present had a base and top coat in it so I've used that as well. Not sure what it does but nothing ventured.
I got a text from my lovely cousin yesterday. She contacts me every day to make sure I'm OK. She was just back from the chiropodist and I thought "feet!". So foot cream unearthed from the stash and pedicure/chiropodist added to the list as well.
Do you know this is all having the most amazing effect on my mood? Yesterday and today have been such happy and positive days. Thank you. xxxHave adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.5
