Hello Ladies,
Sammy Kaye, yes I love going to the theatre, to see musicals, to go to comedy shows and other events.
Wednesday, I hope you and your husband get well soon.4 -
Morning all.Wednesday - hope you and your husband are better soon.Hope everyone is well. Sorry I’ve not been on for a few days. Unfortunately I am up to my eye balls in work at the moment. Am just glad it’s nearly the weekend again.Have been on a few walks this weeks and I did manage to lose 0.5lb at weigh in last night. So so was quite pleased with that.Hubby is off work for a few days on holiday. His job is really stressing him out and has been for a while to be honest. He drives for a living and it very long distances (I am talking about 1100 miles over 3 days, as an example) and he’s sick of getting back really late on the night.I think he was close to walking out the other day.Anyway, speak to you all soon. Have a great Friday!xxStriving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £26,322.676

Lovely catch up with you all. Was so tired yesterday that i slept all afternoon then had a early night and got another 9 hours.
Partly exhausted and partly in pain so I made a flow chart of everything I could do on all the stressors in life and on easy win would be to make an osteopath appointment so I'll do that today. That should help with the headaches and shoulder pain.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!5 -
Evening all
Well had a bit of a kicker earlier from the doctor. Results of my blood test shows I have early diabetes so I am now waiting to see the diabetes nurse on the 13th. So I had no other information than that - no idea of which one it is but Im assuming Type 2 because I am overweight and age etc.
So until I go to see them I will work on reducing fizzy drinks (I have noticed I have drank a caffeinated fizzy drink practically every day!) and sugar in my diet (my sweet tooth and cravings are going to be awful) so I'm going to not have chocolate (again this was a daily thing!) and limit myself to a few jelly sweets if the cravings get too bad or I feel a sugar dip coming on.
So I'm now sat making a list of things to eat or help and I'm going to do a food shop.
You'd think being that most my family on one side has diabetes that Id have a good idea but I am completely clueless!
So I'm drinking my no added sugar still strawberry flavoured water. I really need to get sparkling instead to give me the fizzy hit.
@Abbafan1972 hope your not too snowed under and you can have a relaxing weekend, and that hubby is ok.
Time to find me again5 -
Hello Ladies,
Abba fan 1972, I hope your husband is enjoying his holiday from work, or is at least feeling less stressed.
Sammy Kaye, the diabetic nurse will take you through everything. I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes last year as well as other health issues. I am sure it feels scary to you, but you do not have long to wait to find out all of the facts from the diabetic nurse. You will be able to live a relatively normal life and type 2 diabetes can be reversed through healthy eating, exercise and prescribed medication.
This evening, I went to Streatham Space Project to watch a group of 4 dancers do a contemporary dance entitled 'Where Did All the Violence Go?' and it was really fantastic. The dancers and the soundtrack exceeded all of my expectations. I was enthralled and mesmerised by their interpretation of the different genres of music.
I bought a super early bird ticket for only £4.25 rather than the early bird ticket, which saved me £5.

Thank you too for the reassurance.
I sat last night and did a healthy food shop with things like wholemeal bread, flavoured fizzy water that has no added sugar and things like oil based spreads etc as I read they were good as healthy fats etc.
Im waiting eagerly now on the appointment and was a bit shocked yesterday but I will get there with it and finding out now I can put wheels in motion to try and get it reversed or reversing sooner rather than laterTime to find me again3 -
Hello Ladies,
Sammy-Kaye, you are already off to a good start.
Yesterday evening I went to Karaoke at The Railway Telegraph pub in Forest Hill. There were lots of singers and as the evening ended an hour earlier than usual, we all got to sing 2 or 3 songs. I sang You were always on my mind by Elvis , then Fever by Peggy Lee. I got up and danced a few times as well. I really enjoyed listening to the other singers. It was a good night out.
Today I watched 2 films at the Ritzy cinema. Each ticket only cost me £5.20 as Picturehouse cinemas do Happy Mondays and I am a member. I watched Saint Omer which is a French, subtitled courtroom drama about a mother being on trial for killing her toddler daughter. It is a very interesting, multi-layered drama. It leaves you with lots of questions instead of having a neat ending. For me this film was a 9.5/10Then an hour later, I watched The Fablemans, which is all about a family of the same name and their son who loves to make home movies. There are intense moments in the family dynamics, but there is also a lot of humour. I really enjoyed this film, for me it was a 9/10.

Hello Ladies,
I decided that I really needed to start selling unwanted items on eBay throughout 2023. I received payment for my first sold item today, which was an Adidas tracksuit I bought for my brother last year, which was too small for him. It turns out there are also men who do not acknowledge their correct size.
I am only going to list a few items at a time as taking all of the photographs is time consuming.2 -
Hello Ladies,
I took my daughter to Leilani for a 3 course meal on Tuesday evening. I had jerk chicken wings for my starter and my daughter had barbecue chicken wings for her starter, my main was a whole grilled sea bass with callaloo and my daughter's main was a jerk chicken breast burger with twice cooked chips and a side salad. For dessert I had carrot cake and my daughter had a brownie. I had a small bottle of sparkling water and my daughter had orange juice. The Groupon cost me £21.21 and we had food and soft drinks that would have cost me £61.We tipped the waitress for her good service. Our food was delicious.
On Wednesday morning/afternoon I went to the Blackfriars Settlement mental health and well being discussion group. It was a productive discussion.I ate my free lunch there of vegetable soup and 2 slices of seeded bread. Both of which tasted really good.
Later in the afternoon I went to the Ritzy cinema to watch the documentary All The Beauty and the Bloodshed. It was such a riveting tale of how Nan Goldin and P.A.I.N (Prescription Addiction Intervention Now) after 4 years of activism towards Purdue Pharma and the Sackler family for the Opioid epidemic, finally brought the Sackler family to account. It also focuses on Nan Goldin's career as a photographer. This documentary kept me riveted to the screen and I cheered at the demise of Purdue Pharma and the fall of the Sackler family. For me this documentary was a 9.5/10.
I used a Picturehouse voucher of £7.50 towards the price of my ticket, which only left me with 30p to pay for my members ticket.

Hello Ladies,
On Thursday, I went to visit my great niece and her daughter (my great, great niece). I stayed a few hours and had so much fun with my 8 year old great, great niece. They are struggling a bit financially, so I took them to the local large Tesco and bought them a trolley load of shopping. I also gave my great niece £50 and my great, great niece £8 pocket money. Now mother and daughter can enjoy half term.
On Friday I went to the Ritzy cinema to watch Women Talking in the afternoon. I really enjoyed this film, for me it was a 9.5/10.I used a £7.50 Picturehouse voucher towards my ticket price, which only left me with 30p to pay.
After the film I went into the internal restaurant to read my current book until it was time for me to head over to Black Cultural Archives for Poetic Unity, an Open Mic poetry evening. It was an absolutely fantastic evening, full of really talented poets.
