@sammy_kaye18 I totally sympathise with the agoraphobia and social anxiety, I experienced severe panic attacks during peri-menopause which left me in the same state, good to hear you are finding a way out of the wilderness.Grocery challenge year budget €3K Jan €190 Feb €225 Mar €313 Apr €202 May €224 June €329 July €518 Aug €231Sep €389 Oct €314 Nov €358 Dec €335 Total spent €3628

Good Mornjng lovely ladies.....
glad to see you all well and being fabulous.Hello Sammy Kaye and welcome. Looks like you have made a cracking start. Lots of good plans there.Well it's been quite a week.....
Sunday last (nearly two weeks ago) my family arrived to spend some time with me whilst they had some building work done, initially for 5 nights. They're still here.😂. And will be for a while yet. As always the work has taken longer (and will cost more) than anticipated. We're packed like sardines and it's all a bit "cosy😂 but I'm glad to help - saving them a small fortune in hotel bills.Still going to chiro - currently twice a week. The adjustments hurt like Billy Oh and there's not really much recovery time between treatments, so what with family here and chiro I'm shattered. Hey Ho, it will all be worth it, on both counts.Fab Friday tomorrow. 😉.Keeeeeep fabbing and Stay Stunning, ❤️5 -
Hello Ladies,
I had a really busy day yesterday. I went to the Blackfriars Settlement mental health and wellbeing discussion group from 11am - 12.30pm. Then I had a free lunch of freshly cooked vegetable noodle soup and a slice of sourdough bread at Blackfriars Settlement.
After lunch, a group of us went to see the musical Mandela at The Young Vic. We had free community tickets, which would have cost us £48 each.We all enjoyed the musical and I found it just as fantastic second time around. Still 10/10 for me.
In the evening, I went to Brixton House to watch the play Chicken Burger and Chips. Alisha had got free tickets for the Neighbourhood Voices group. My concession ticket would have cost me £11. Alisha was also co-producer of this play.
At the end of the play, we met the writer of the play Corey Bovell, the director T. D Moyo and the one man acting tour de force who played all of the characters in the play, Gamba Cole. It was really special talking to all of them about their brilliant work.
This play was a 10/10 for me.
I won £25 on my Premium Bonds this month4 -
Thanks all for the lovely welcome and Happy Thursday to you all.

@flossyblog - funny enough they think I may be peri-menopausal at 38 as my body is all over the shop to put it politely and in case anyone is eating breakfast. So that's being looked into too but I have suffered with anxiety for over 20 years now so it was bound to hit me with a vengeance at some point since its been relatively quiet for a long time. I have had to try and find a way out of it though because with two kids and 3 dogs - locking myself inside wasnt an option but they have all been a great help and so has husband thankfully so myself and him go on walks and bike rides and hes very encouraging. Ill happily walk a 5k walk now (well Im overweight so not entirely happy but you know what I mean) and spending time in nature always helps.
@helensbiggestfan sounds like my christmas family get together = we all pile to my sisters house and theres usually about 14/15 of us wedged in for the day. Im not sure I could cope with them any longer. Im glad your enjoying it though and I hope your chiro is helping you. Im not sure what your having it for yet but I am reading through the threads so I will catch up!
@sugarbaby125 - sounds like you have had a lovely day, do you enjoy going to the theatre. shows etc? I will have to ask you for a review if I ever want to go and see anything! We are off to see a band called Post Modern Jukebox in April after I had to cancel it last year due to the anxiety but I am determined to go this year. The last few years they have been in a place called The Tramshed in Cardiff which is all standing - not ideal with anxiety but this year they are in St Davids Hall which is all seated so I can just hide away, sit in my seat and relax which should be nice. They are a band that take modern songs and play them in the 1950s style. Some of their covers are amazing. Also well done on your Premium bonds win too!
Well I found out my perfume last night and opened it and gave it a spritz before bed as I wasnt even sure what it smelt like. It smells like a coastal sea breeze is the only way I can think to put it. Its not a strong scent but rather a delicate pretty one. I fell asleep imagining I was by the seaside. Its called INIS - the energy of the sea. From recollection its Irish and unisex but I cant imagine my husband wearing it! They do lots of room fragrances too which I like and find calming too so I may have to get some more!
Im trying to sort my garden at the minute as well to turn it into a little sanctuary for me because I think getting a good dose of Vitamin D sitting in the sunshine will help mood etc too so I worked a lot on that yesterday and I felt so accomplished and happy yesterday after I had put pallets together to make a veg bed by myself unassisted. It was nice and reassuring at the same time. So todays challenge is ferrying a tonne of gravel from the front of my house to the back! My poor back will be in bits but then a nice pampering bubble bath will be on the cards :-)

Sammy....how I envy you your ability to do such physical work. I used to but alas not anymore. Maybe once the chiro starts working my energy will return.Basically I am having treatment because my body is out of alignment, shoulders, head, ribs, pelvis and knees. The lot. Due to a combination of factors, being my husband carer with all the lifting required, then two car crashes and then a fall.Quite a fair bit of damage and I guess my body has got into bad postural habits as a way of compensating and trying to avoid pain from the injuries I have sustained over the years. The problem is these bad habits have made matters worse over the long term.Hopefully the chiro can put me back together again properly and (literally) straighten me out.😂🤣.
she seems confident it's all fixable, it will just take time.4 -

I have an issue with my back and I am basically sitting incorrectly and years of staring at low till screens and computers has caused me to develop a lump between my shoulders which is known as a buffalo hump (how flattering) I really should speak to the doctor about it but I completely forget about it until my husband brings it up. I just seem to feel like Im always looking down at things despite only being 5'5!

I heard of The Tramshed when I was in Cardiff last November, I think it was that people were watching the Wales World Cup game in there.:)
I'm sorry to read you have had problems with anxiety. I have suffered with anxiety in the past too, I started getting panic attacks in 2019 and they lasted until 2022 and I luckily had a NHS psychologist for most of the pandemic. They have completely disappeared since moving house here, for some reason!2025 GOALS

I am feeling much better, but my husband has now developed a cough himself. It seems like a delayed reaction as we last saw the decorator last Saturday night, but I have read some people can have Covid, but not present with symptoms for quite a few days.
The roof is getting finished today, thankfully. I need to contact the man who cleans our gutters and windows as they are very grimy and dirty from all the debris from the roof.
I am not feeling very fab as I have developed a cold sore. I only get them when I am very run down. I did have a healthy lunch and took my vitamins and am still resting at home.

His workmate tested positive and it was when you had to isolate if you had been in contact with them for 10 days - so he was home and housebound for 10 days (joy!) and then they had to test to show they were well to work and thats when he got the positive test. No symptoms at all and had to then isolate for another 10 days.
When he caught it the second time, he said he felt like he had a heavy cold and was quite lethargic but thankfully seemed to avoid the coughing etc as hes asthmatic.
Im glad to hear your feeling better and hopefully husband will be on the mend soon.Making Changes To Save My LifeCurrent weightloss - 2lbs (week 1)5 -
My little treat to me today came along a bit unplanned. After tidying our socks and underwear drawers I came across my cuticle moisturiser and it too prompted me to find the ring cleaner that is in the similar form of a mascara style. So that was nails filed cuticles sorted and lovely sparkly rings on my fingers and some delicious hand cream, Washing up can wait till later
