Work wasn't too bad this week and I feel almost back to normal, I do need to be careful about lifting etc but otherwise all good.
This morning I've filled the car with petrol £45, done the food shop £98 and bought the Christmas tree £45. I'm waiting for the tree to be delivered this afternoon. It is a lot of money but it comes with a base on it so no faffing round trying to get it upright in a silly pot, and is delivered so no having to clean the car of pine needles. It comes from my household pot and is one thing I like to buy each year, as a child we always had an artificial tree and I always wanted a real one when I was grown up, so it is something I treat us to each year.
The food shop was high this week but I did buy quite a lot of meat for the freezer, as well as chips, ice cream, more veggies and a big bag of ice cubes for over Christmas.
This afternoon will be a football one obviously, then decorating the tree either tonight or tomorrow, depending what time it arrives.Mortgage Total: £50,550/ £75,000

Morning all, last weekend before we break up for Christmas
I went to sleep around 9:30 last night so am wide awake this morning. So far though I've only fed the cat, stripped my bedding and put it in the machine, made a coffee and sorted my fantasy league team
The rest of today will involve the usual visiting Mum , football and housework. I gave the bathroom a really good clean last night, I want to get on top of the rest of it as the place just doesn't feel done at the moment.
I need to do some shopping too, nothing major, some food bits to keep us going and a couple of bits for work. The rest of my Christmas shopping can wait until we've broken up for the holidays.Mortgage Total: £50,550/ £75,000

The food shop came in at £70 but did include several bits for the freezer which is building up nicely now (ginger, garlic, chilli, reduced pork mince, reduced sausages, 3 bags of berries (3 for 2 offer) and another big piece of gammon.
Bed has been remade, ds bedding is in the machine now. Kitchen is cleaned, all washing has been put away, I need to hoover through but the battery needed charging so that will be later.Mortgage Total: £50,550/ £75,000

The world works in very mysterious ways ... yesterday I was thinking about my lack of regular walking and its something I want to get back to in the New Year. So I decided I might save up for a new Fitbit as mine is very temperamental, charging can be very iffy. Anyway, 5 minutes later I was watching the football and at halftime decided to allow myself £5 on a slot game. I only did 3 x 20p spins and won £153

so decided it must be the new Fitbit money. Having now been looking at new Fitbits it appears that Google have taken over the company and are phasing them out and replacing with their own version of an Apple watch. This isn't what I want, I don't need a device that I can make payments from, read texts etc, I have a phone for that. I also don't need ecg, pulseox etc, I just want to know how many steps I've done (accurately) and maybe track my sleep. So now I am having to find a different make, but I like the fitbit. I liked the challenges I could do with friends etc. Hmmmph, not impressed google. Mortgage Total: £50,550/ £75,000

I had a Fitbit for years and tried an Apple Watch this year. It does too much for my needs to be honest, like you I just want to track steps. Years ago I used to stick a pedometer in my sock 🤣I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1

can you not install a steps app on to your phone?1

I can but I don't always take my phone with me, I do if I'm going for a long walk on my own as I listen to music but I don't have it on me at work and can easily do 8,000 a day at work.efes_shareholder said:can you not install a steps app on to your phone?Mortgage Total: £50,550/ £75,000

So the Christmas holidays are finally here, it's been a long week with a parents evening as well as Christmas concert, but we made it. We finished at lunchtime and I have come home and just pottered about, tidying up, doing housework. It was sunny and so mild that I've had the back doors wide open which was lovely.
Just had a bath and going to put pj's on as I'm not planning on going anywhere tonight. A nice chilled evening ahead I hope!Mortgage Total: £50,550/ £75,000
