Bed stripped, bedding washed and on the line, it's a beautiful day here today :)

Food shop done, popped into the garden centre and bought some seeds, they've been duly planted and watered.

All rubbish and recycling has gone out, I'm now thinking about sanding the dining table and varnishing it. I was given it many years ago (when I was still with ds' Dad), it's a lovely solid wood table / chairs but the table top is varnished and is almost orange, it's a long overdue job :)

I got side tracked, ended up bringing in the washing from the line, remaking my bed and did another load of washing (basket now empty :) )

When I was a child I remember Mum watching Gardeners World every week and wondering (fearing) at what age I would become interested in plants / gardening, as it bewildered me that she wanted to watch it every week, it seemed sooo dull to teenage me ... anyway, despite having a garden for 8 years I still have little interest in doing it. Until now. Somethings happened over the last few weeks, I'm blaming perimenopause, as suddenly I've got a thing about planting stuff in pots. Each time I go to the supermarket, or other shops I seem to come home with compost, plants or seeds of some sort. My garden is turf with a decking area and the border areas are grey gravel, so rather than dig them and the weed membrane out I would rather do groups of pots and planters that can be moved as required. Anyway, as i have now filled all the pots I have I decided to have a quick mooch on facebook marketplace as I thought I might find some on there or even other containers that could be repurposed for plants. Luckily for me someone had posted some less than an hour before - some had gone by the time I saw them but I did manage to get 4 large tubs that would have been about £6-£7 each full price, so I went and collected them, stopped off for another bag of compost then came back and planted the last two plants I'd bought.

I have two of the tubs left, I might wait for these ones and wait as I have some seeds in tiny pots in the conservatory, so once they've got bigger they can go in them.

Morning all, Easter holidays are here!

We finished at lunchtime yesterday, I managed to get the grass cut and did some weeding of the patio. I also nipped to the shop and got some food bits. Today will be some more bits in the garden as the weather is looking lovely, then football. I don't have much planned for this week, the second week is made up of various appointments (nails, Mums optician appointment etc), and meeting friends. I want to get some DIY bits done and more garden bits and pieces, but generally am looking forward to a rest!

Well the first week of the holidays has not gone to plan - Mum went into hospital last Saturday, another suspected stroke :( She is hopefully coming out on Monday or Tuesday but the week has mainly been spent visiting. I have done a few pottering about bits at home, did the pub quiz, and got my free £50 from Nationwide (thank you!).

Today is a footie afternoon and some pondering on my mortgage plans moving forward. Then I'll g and visit Mum this evening.

Thank you, she's very confused - they think it's a minor stroke (she had a big one about 10 years ago), not a lot of info forthcoming from anyone at the hospital tbh. They have put carers in place 3 times a day for when she's home, we'll have to see how it goes but I don't think it will be long before she is in a care home :(
