Last night I managed a monumental 8 hrs 47 minutes sleep - I'd been averaging around 6 hours this week so did a bit of catching up! I do feel a lot better for it. Today I have done the food shopping, sorting the end of month banking and general housework / chores. A nice lazy day chilling for me :)

Morning, had a burst of energy again this morning so have cleaned the bathroom, stripped my bed and the washing machine is doing its thing. Tidied my room, whizzed round downstairs and everything is where it should be, just needs a proper clean later on. Other plans for today include: a card order, banking stuff, and general mooching :)

As January draws to an end it is clear that my weightloss / walking plans haven't materialised yet - mainly due to the incessant rain we've had this month, I haven't felt any inclination to go out walking. February however is going to be different. Time to get going with the plans!

Also I officially start my new job on Wednesday (1st Feb) even though I've been doing some of it for a while now. I know now what I'll be earning, not as good as I had hoped but at least it's doing the role I've been wanting. Today I need to do some number crunching so I will have an accurate idea going forward for my budgets. Our school is closed to students on Wednesday, I'll still be in but a fairly relaxed first day I reckon. We also have an inset day the following week, so again a fairly easy day. Then it's half-term!

great to have an official start date for the new job

  • I managed a decent walk last weekend and am off on another one later. Feeling virtuous! But I felt so good after the one last week I am inspired to go again.

    Need new walking shoes though.

Thanks Sarah, yep first few days have gone well. We have an inset day on Monday so a fairly easy final week before half-term hopefully. I have restarted my fitness goals on 1st Feb, I've been good this week and have lost 3.5lbs (the same ones I keep re-finding :)).

Today I went for a 10 mile beach walk, came back and had a shower and am now ready for an afternoon of football. Tonight I'm out for a friends birthday, probably my oldest friend, oldest as in longest time rather than age. We're going out for dinner, I've already checked the menu and made sensible choices :)

And half-term is here! I've felt rubbish all week with a cold but finally I can rest. It has nearly gone so hopefully will disappear quickly now. This morning I had a lie-in, then ordered 2 new fence panels which are being delivered on Wednesday, went and did the food shopping and have done some housework - two loads of washing and tidying up. The rest of today will be a lazy one and mainly football based :)
