I've been lurking but not posting much, trying to catch up.
Christmas now packed away, sadly - much of which was done in the WAC. We just need to sort through the cards to re-read, note down any address changes, pick out any to keep for making new ones next time then recycle the rest.
Downstairs reasonably flown around.
I'm on my last 2 reports which will be with admin by Monday am but had hoped to finish them by yesterday.
Lots on admin to-do list; new term's student paperwork to prepare - have already emailed 2 who reported more visual difficulties than I want to see; I need to prepare the talks for the Waterways Chaplaincy, the date for which is racing too close for comfort. I need to book accommodation in the area as I'm not driving to Stoke and back in a day, so we will make a little break of it.
Next major house task is preparation for fitted wardrobes which are being installed later this month. A plea on village FB for anyone having a clothes rail they could lend us has resulted in one being dropped off today, so we can start moving all our clothes into the spare room, hopefully decluttering as we go, although I have been through garments fairly recently when the guy came to measure for the wardrobes. Once empty, the old storage can be dismantled and the walls painted. Hoping it will be our chance to have a really good spring clean in the room.
Back to catching up as I've not done too badly today.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.11 -

I thought that I had lost part of the thread there for a minute - then remembered that the postman had been with a mysterious letter. Thank you, Pigpen and Natty, so much x
I have been relatively productive - bathrooms cleaned, carrot soup made, wm x2 done, HHI, WUDUPA. DD has decluttered some hair. She is not happy, as she thinks it is too short. She consoled herself with retail therapy, thankfully in the cs, so the damage was limited.9 -
Hi all x
was a busy late shift last night at work. I totally expected the place to be empty for the full of January.Since I got out of bed I’ve……
drank tea
made bed and opened windows
cleaned LR tables
wiped all pictures/frames in LR
emptied winterdyke and put past
rehomed the clutter
shredded the Mail that has been building up
WM and winterdyke refill
threw the bath mats in WM
cleaning stuff lobbed down the lavy pan
made tea
Stuck a quiche in the oven
Just going to clean the bathroom then stop for something to eat.Love and hugs to everyone (including you Piggers)I'm not a muggle...I'm just magically challenged10 -

I'm glad the surgery went well, and *healing vibes* for Cat 2, and the best of luck with the pills over the next few days Kaz.I've spent the last three hours sorting out the fridge. I can't believe it took that long, but it was well worth it in the end. I had the leftover broccoli and stilton soup for lunch that's been there for a few days with a bit of the leftover feta cheese - totally delish with a few cracks of black pepper. I portioned up the leftover Christmas pud that Belovéd wants to have as a pudding when I don't want one, so that won't go to waste. As and when there is space those chunks will go into the freezer. The bacon we bought yesterday is now portioned up, again to go into the freezer asap. I made the smoked mackerel paté that I've wanted to make for four days. Belovéd wanted something for lunch so I made a frittata/tortilla thing with the leftover roasties and courgetti spaghetti, and listed all the food we've got in there so that I can meal plan for this week rather than defrost anything or, even worse, go shopping.I also chopped up Layla's cooked chicken so we've got enough for her for a few weeks I hope. That's the most time consuming job of the lot and it's been hanging round since Tuesday. Both cats and Layla know that chicken chopping results in treats so I had a crowd of hopeful onlookers.Better is good enough.10
