Hi all, thanks
. I enjoyed making it but I am not the fastest crocheter in the world
@MrsCD, yes it is crab stitch. I found I really had to concentrate when doing it just because it was going the wrong way but I do like the look of it so I will probably use it again
@Cherryfudge wall to wall sunshine here
Take care everyone8 -

Hi all,
@Gem-gem, it's called puffed shell stitch. It's very easy, just a shell stitch but into the back of the stitch only iyswim. If you google it there are a few videos that show you how to do it.
Take care everyone5 -
We made it to the second day of the County Show as I was just out of quarantine and negative. We kept away from farm livestock, and kept our distance anyway. I found a perfect, strong, round shopping basket,( Jack Straws baskets) made in England from green and white willow. It will hold my large cake tin or a box of jars of jam, and eggs, for WI. Our next meeting is a talk about bags, and the competition is, “A puppet made from a paper bag.”
Someone was choosing a traditional willow picnic hamper, which looked beautiful, but we had our useful jute shopping bag of picnic ware and our old Stanley vacuum flask. We had an ice cream, a very rare treat.
The WI marquee was a delight as always, and the competitions were well supported with homemade toys, pickles, cakes and other crafts.7 -
That's a beautiful basket, @Nelliegrace. I have my traditional one from school cookery lessons, though I don't use it for shopping (possibly I should - support sustainable crafts?)
I noticed somewhere near us is doing willow-weaving workshops and I was very tempted. I think they have more later in the year so I might yet make it to one.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

I am very excited about a find on eBay which was with several boxes of handkerchiefs, so it cost 75p with postage. It was made to celebrate the coronation of King George VI in May 1937. A treasure from before rationing. No coupons.

@Nelliegrace I take it the Kings handkerchief is made of silk? Lovely bright colours too.

7 coupons spent on socks for gifts. (1 x child-size, 2x men's size). I confess to being a Bluey super-fan.
I also got some joggers, coupon-free yesterday. £2.95 from a charity shop.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
