He has had two buffet meals and a beer, sandwiches, and chips supper in the last week, all through bowls.
Visits to his mother in the nursing home involve tea and cake.

I've just got a lovely pair of navy suede Clarks flat shoes that look unworn, not even a speck of dust on he soles, for £8.50 , charity shop so no coupons. I'm doing well so far this year for new things with no coupon cost.
Hope everyone is either enjoying the sunshine or, if not keeping cool.7 -
I got a little worn pair of Clark’s sandals out of the wardrobe today. I wore them on the drive to take the dog out onto the front lawn. As I walked back the crêpe soles crumbled into powdery black lumps. Bother.7

I hope you have a lovely time at the Globe @Gem-gem . It’s something on my bucket list, as well.

The majority of block-moulded shoes will crumble in time, esp if they are kept in a centrally-heated house... some quicker, some slower, but it's a tendency the material has.
As the years go by, I am steadily replacing the ones I had with properly-made ones, new and second-hand, and oh, the difference... not to mention the difference in my poor old feet! The properly-made shoes are far more supportive, and my bunions (ordinary ones *and* tailors' bunions below my little toes too!) don't ache at all if I wear decent footwear for a few days, and then I nip out to the shops in a pair of the block-moulded ones and bingo, ouch-ouch-ouchity-ouch...
I wear lace-up shoes and boots, with heels from 1/2-inch to 2-inch, but also I wear the better-made end of plimsoles (Sainsbury's Tu range are excellent and surprisingly supportive), and the kind of sandals which have adjustable straps for the main fastening in front of the ankle but also over the ball of the foot, and if I stay with those, then my feet are grateful... and they really do last well, even the plimsoles!2025 remaining: 37 coupons from 66:

Hi all, more yarn from the cs, now I have discovered the cs that does have some I call in whenever I am passing to see what they have
. 100g of bright red dk to add a bit of colour to the baby garments 50p
. I also picked up a small bag of embroidery threads, 10 skeins for 50p
Did anyone see the sewing bee this week? Although the garments made were brilliant I was nearly crying when they were cutting up the crochet blankets knowing how much work was in them. Is this just me?
The scrappy blanket I am working on is growing nicely. Much easier stitch than the baby blanket and OH is very complimentary about it which is good
@PipneyJane ox bow lakesthe thing everyone remembers from geography lessons in school, perfect for a swim
. As for polyester sport shirts they drive me nuts. As you say why? Just why? My nephew is heading home soon and his reply to the question "will we be able to get together during this work break?" was " I will be watching the ashes in July". That put me in my place
. To be fair he won't be visiting his Mum either
Take care everyone8 -
Hi, everyone! Glad you are all well, and enjoying the cricket.
I've just spent 7 tokens on a dress. Nothing fancy - basically just a long Tshirt. Pull it over your head and off you go. Very patriotic too, mainly blue with white stripes, and red trim round the neck. I just wanted something a little smarter for the garden, but casual too.Sealed Pot Challenge no 035.
