A bit of clothes spending today: £9.95 for a couple of pairs of insoles. Do they have a coupon cost?
I went to the car boot sale and bought a dressing gown for DGD, slippers for me and a shirt for me, total cost £1.80. I'm very pleased with them all, but the slippers - which look super-hardwearing - don't support my arches, hence insoles.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

(Rose-grey alpaca, if that's what it is, is the rarest colour of alpaca... not easy to find, sad to say!)
Just added 2 coupons for 2 50g balls of beautiful local natural-coloured Shetland wool, one a lovely chestnut brown & one a little greyer than faun but browner than oatmeal, which I'm planning to make a hat & a pair of fingerless gloves from. I've been trading opposite the (lovely) producers (Tamarisk Farm) for the last two days and I could only resist for so long!Angie - GC Aug25: £106.61/£550 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)6 -

Hi, everyone, another one who's been Mia for a while! Sorry to hear about all the illnesses - I hope that everyone is at least comfortable as can be while they wait for things to be sorted out!
A couple of spends - 4 pairs of knickers (what is it with me with knickers and holidays? Other people buy nice mementos - I buy knickers) and a pair of flip-flops. They are orthopedic so cost an absolute fortune, but I can't wear ordinary ones at all. I make that a total of 13 coupons.Sealed Pot Challenge no 035.
Fashion on the Ration - 27.5/66 ( 5 - shoes, 1.5 - bra, 11.5 - 2 pairs of shoes and another bra, 5- t-shirt, 1.5 yet another bra!) 3 coupons swimming costume.6 -
A probable five coupons spent on a cardigan to go over a sleeveless dress at this summer's family wedding. It's a bit annoying as I'm not sure I'll ever wear it again: it's theoretically versatile but not a fabric I'd ever choose. Anyway, I've ordered it so I'll see how it feels when it comes, it could be the new perfect garment.
I'm still keeping tabs on my coupons in a diary: 16 spent so far this year. I've had some good second hand buys especially footwear and formal wear, which really helps. I'm sure there would have been less available second hand during the war.

Now, this here merino-alpaca... if it's a natural grey then the chances are pretty high that it exists somewhere else as well.
Is it really and truly something which you have never ever seen anything like it, or is it really and honestly something you probably could find a pretty similar yarn if you had a project for which you really needed it?
Thank you, everyone, for your moral support. May was a tough month for me; being able to take refuge in our virtual village hall is much appreciated.

ETA: @Cherryfudge - I’m sure I read somewhere that insoles are coupon free. Hope the new cardigan turns out to be lovely."Be the type of woman that when you get out of bed in the morning, the devil says 'Oh crap. She's up.'

Hi all, I have finished the baby blanket at last, it used 800g so I have some yarn left to make a few other bits for the baby. I thought you might like to see a couple of photos. It is about 54 inches by 44 inches.
I was particularly pleased with the border as it was a new to me stitch
I will let you know what else I use the yarn for
Take care everyone11 -
Very pretty! @Liverpool_Anne
Is the edging done in crab stitch, i.e. backwards double crochet? (UK terms)
It's very neat. A true labour of love. Can you tell it's not my favourite stitch!😆2025 Fashion on the ration
