  • My DH works is a manager of a supermarket so I've sent him to work with a £20 note to change into £2 coins for me. We don't really spend with cash so getting them the conventional way is not going to work for me. Although we have got a £50 each cash allowance for those impulse buys that we each want rather than need.
So my plan is get £20 changed with DH every month and anything I don't spend out of my £50 a month will also be changed into £2 coins.

Not actually going to declare the £20 for today until he comes home from work with the goods. He is known for his forgetfulness.

  • Welcome BlueJ94.  Great to have you along for the challenge.  You are number 16 :) .

Well done on getting debt free by the end of this month.  That will feel amazing for you.

Enjoy finding those lovely £2 coins.  And do let us know how you are getting on, particularly if you get a patterned ones, i.e. Shakespeare, Darwin, the DNA helix - there are so many designs out there!

My corner shop knows I collect and save them, so often give them to me in my change without me having to ask.  Some self service checkouts have them and I always ask checkout staff if they have any.  Friends and family are also extremely helpful in getting some.

    Very best wishes

Well done on everyones growing collections. I'm now up to 5, so I'm thinking of this as a good start as it's only the second day of the year. 😀
