Sorry to hear about the fridge freezer and depleted emergency fund @Sallyforth. But it's a good thing that you had it, otherwise you might have ended up with a very expensive credit option to replace the fridge freezer. Perhaps split your Christmas fund into Christmas and emergency fund and then take it from there? That way it's not right back to £0, but you don't wipe out your Christmas savings either.
