I found a pink Boden raincoat today for £15... needs a wash as the hem is grubby, but will be perfect for cooler wet days.

Out for a coffee with a friend in Poole today followed by a wander around a number of shops. There was a new one that we wanted to go in to but they were closing just as we arrived at 4 despite the sign showing they were open until 5. Ah well. Lots of nice scarves investigated but none were absolutely divine so that saved me a bit. And then in the Julia's House shop I spotted a little tea light holder - I pointed it out to my friend who'd never seen anything like it before. We have 2 that we've bought at German Christmas markets but this had a Mad Hatter's Tea Party picture on it. £2.95. She really liked it and teased me for tempting her with it so I bought it for her.

Oh dear, I went a bit crazy today. Between Sue Ryder, Cancer Research and Yorkshire Cancer Research, I bought a book (£2) and 12 pieces of mostly vintage Denby 'Homestead'. There's still a basket of Denby 'Memories' with about 14 pieces in Sue Ryder for £16.
I feel a bit guilty.
One of the pieces is a cream jug, a slight variation on one I already have, but not the same, must be a different year. T here are also two mugs which they produced in the same colour but different styles and these aren't my preferred style. I'm going to give those to my sister, who also collects. That leaves me with a lovely 2pt pie dish, 6 beautiful teacups (no saucers, I checked) and something that the internet variously calls a salt dip, a butter pat or a candle holder. I suspect the first is right. Then there's a modern version of the old design in the form of a square oven dish.
I spent about £28 for this lot... but it's so relaxing to look at, let alone use.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Some jolly good bargains above @Cherryfudge - I'm envying you the pie dish particularly, @Floss - the raincoat is lovely, @Brie - love your tealight find and your generosity.
I had a browse round my favourite BHF shop yesterday afternoon on my way home from the optician and found a M&S bathmat in perfect condition for £2.50 and a Rose Elliot cookbook that I've been wanting for a while for £2. Here they are.

Your salt dip/butter pat looks (from google images alone) to be the little things my mum would decant butter into as m'father was a right awkward so & so & liked unsalted very very cold butter whereas she used ambient salted. (This cosseting of the male she learned from my grandmother who would sit & peacefully fill a dozen little pots & they'd chuckle as these were then loaded into the icebox... I have hordes of them & we don't make that big a deal of butter so I may decant tiny portions of ice-cream into them to coax the appetite of a sick lad. If it's not emptied then hurled at me with a demand for a decent portion, they are sick indeed.)7 -
