Miró said:Thanks for posting about the CB. I didn't go as I thought it would be cancelled due to the ground probably being sodden. Is it announced on the Facebook page about cancellation, (didn't realise they had a page!!)?I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

No car boot but I had a couple of finds in Age Concern - £9.99 for a Nike running top (not cheap but just right for me) and £3.99 for a cross-body bag that actually fits my holiday purse and is pretty, too.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Went in to a few chazzers today. Himself got some more books, I wasn’t tempted by anything. Stuff’s getting dearer and dearer, with no sign of stopping. A pair of thin Asda jeans - that someone’s put on over their high heels and left a sticky-outy run down the back of the calves - £12. 😮I'm unsure about my spine, I think it's holding me back.5

A couple more bargains today.
My mum wanted some long, thick curtains to cover her external doors so I got a 102” x 88” extremely heavy, lined pair for £15 from Somebody Cares giant charity shop in Aberdeen. I reckon they must have been hundreds of pounds new, I could barely lift them they were so heavy and I’m pretty strong for being hobbit-sized 😆
I also found a small ceramic jug for flowers (perfect for Mother’s Day) for £1.50, a couple of bags of used golf balls for £1 each (OH goes through them like I don’t know what & they cost a fortune new!) and an M&S empty wicker hamper for £3 for the top of my kitchen cabinets for storage.“I want to be a glow worm, A glow worm's never glum'Coz how can you be grumpy, when the sun shines out your bum?" ~ Dr A. From the local Sue Ryder furniture store picked up a neat little glass TV stand for £10…perfect for the ‘gentleman caller’s’ conservatory TV.7

No charity shops spotted on holiday.....so I had to buy a scarf new (large silk square with the Dresden Semperopera design) and hand made silver earrings from a female silversmith. Oh woe is me!
fyi - Nikwax (& similar) is great to use on cushion covers for outdoor seating as it makes them more resistant to rain and dew.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. I went into a few charity shops today. I was looking for a long dress and I found one straight away in Sense, a Wallis dress with a butterfly pattern. £6.50, but brand new and it does feel like it is very good quality. I did buy two Wallis tunic dresses from a charity shop last year and I wear them all the time.
I went into Harp and didn't find anything and then went to The Cornerstone. I got two jumpers, a blue Primark one and an oversized red jumper. I got 3 books and a teddy for my dog too. That all came to £4.20 so much cheaper!:)The books were The Sanatorium - Sarah Pearse, My Thoughts Exactly - Lily Allen and Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine - Gail Honeyman.6 -

So much to read, so little time.6 -
First trip of the year was on holiday, needed a mug and something to read. Came to 3euro, so left 5.
Local first trip today. Struck gold. Ten skeins of Icelandic wool. One is the thick lopi and the other nine are much finer. Had a google when i got home an let's say I paid less than a 10th of what it sells for new. Currently airing outside (it's -10) so anything like moths will also freeze. I picked up a souvenir dish and the total after Seniors Discount (the white temples and visible roots must have given me away) was $13.
Off to search patterns

Fantastic find @wondercollie! The folks on the Fashion on the Ration thread would be very impressed! (And probably have pattern suggestions but you may already have your own finds).
where in Europe did you go?I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
