I had a lovely mooch around the local(ish) chazzers today, and came away with these bargains:
Large hardback book of HFW’s River Cottage “Fish” (the back says it was £30 when new) in perfect condition for just £1
Two single duvet cover sets, Ballamoray and one with diggers and traffic all over for a total of £2 - I will be using this as material to make cushion covers for the grandchildren’s rooms.
Three uncut sewing patterns for various size dolls clothes and a rag doll. £1
A brand new, sealed mincing attachment for my KitchenAid, £15
A brand new, sealed Harry Potter Cluedo board game for £5, which will be put away for a Christmas present for the HP-mad person in our family.
A few random things for the grandchildren’s toy-boxes-at-grandma’s-house : two sets of top trumps card sets, a barbie doll, two sparkly bracelets and a crystal growing set - £3 the lot.

Nearest to a black Denby teapot would be Jet stripes - not quite the same lines!4

I still haven't found a teapot I like!
Got woken up again by workmen so went into Southend to mooch. I found Kangol wellies, two skirts, slipper boots and socks! I went to 4 shops. The last shop I went into was Barnados and they had some brand new womens socks at 3 for £1 so I got 16 pairs for £9!:)
Southend seafront.

Those workmen are costing you a bit!
I'm rather in awe of all your sock bargains.
Southend seafront looks beautiful, though I bet it's cold.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
The sun's been out and I think I’m solar powered (Onebrokelady)

I must say I'm so jealous of all of your reasonably priced charity shops! We have two in our village - one barely gets any donations and has a tiny shop (barely big enough for 3 people at once) and the other sells things at a very expensive price point. They had a full rack of baby clothes the other day and not a single thing was under £2.50! For used baby grows! Adult clothing is all at least £5 (even for something like a vest top that is clearly Primark brand and would've been £2 - £4 brand new) and books are £2 minimum for paperback, £3 for hardback.£2023 in 2023 challenge - £17.79 January6

I know CherryFudge, my workmen have a lot to answer for! I found another pair of wellies at the British Heart Foundation shop after I posted. It almost makes me look forward to rain!
Some of the socks i bought were 3 for £1, but I bought a few pairs of "trekking" socks, I think they were called, and they were £2.50 a pair.2025 GOALS

Got a couple of bnwt M & S skirts yesterday in Harrogate*. A navy, heavy cotton, knee length, ‘safari stylee’ with lots of pockets for £3 and a sludgey turquoisy/green satin slip skirt, bias cut and midaxi length for £5. I was particularly thrilled to find this but upon trying it on at home found one side seam so badly sewn there was a gaping hole where the fabric had not been lined up properly. No mention of ‘faulty’ on the labels….guess M & S’s quality control must be slipping! Think it’s fixable tho, fingers X’dDon’t usually have much luck in Harrogate…always felt the rich folk there hang on to their kwalitee clobber!!!5

When in the local children's hospice shop yesterday, I found a gorgeous spotted long sleeve, below knee Sosander ex-JL dress - £9.99, but ideal for all occasions!2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇
