It is a lovely sunny day so I took a walk to The Cornerstone charity shop. I didn't find one thing to buy! I was looking for slipper boots, wellies (as I read they were good if the ground is icy if they have rubber soles) and brand new socks.
I did see some brand new slipper boots which were £10 and they had a label for £25, but they were too small anyway even though they were allegedly a size 6. I thought there would be loads of donated socks in chazzers at this time of year!

It was a lovely sunny day so I took an executive decision and went from a walk.
Chazzer finds: a pair of Next jeans (2 sizes too big but tbf I was looking for the size above mine) for £2, a Next cotton blouse for £1, a jazzy scarf for 50p and 3 books for £1. Chazzer-satisfaction for £4.50, the work is still here and will be into the evening but I care not.

Following on from Christmas where I got all of my daughters Christmas secondhand either off eBay, Facebook or charity shops we’ve done the same for her birthday which was last week. My husband got Peppa pig toys, paw patrol books and a paw patrol coat. All for a fraction of the cost of new. The Peppa pig toys he pay £1.50 each for are £10 brand new, there’s nothing wrong with them.:money::rotfl::T9

A whole £1.50 for a finger puppet book for DGD - nearly new and she loves it so we are both happy. In twenty years it will be in The Repair Shop because all the fur will have worn off the soft toy where it's been forced through the pop-up hole so many times.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. And the Teddy Bear Grannies will be wearing thicker glasses as they deftly restore youth & beauty to toys... All that team amaze me - they can roll back years, but still leave the articles' character glinting.
Mind, rule one does seem to be clean the blighter...5 -

Rule one is certainly 'clean the blighter'... DH watches with eagle eyes to see if he can catch brand names of cleaning fluids (no luck so far).
It amazes me that a lot of people actually don't seem to think of learning how to mend a split seam or sew on a button. It's not rocket science and a good mend is often totally invisible (I've surprised myself a few times to discover I mended a favourite years ago). It's good that a lot of communities now run repair cafes where people can get things fixed.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

There is a strange but now well-known 20p shop in a town I visit sometimes.
Slightly disappointed yesterday. Clean cream hand towel, needs line drying, for the church "support those in dire straits" store. And a decent 200ml swing top jar for myself.
Last time I got a 1ltr Aladdin thermos flask, intact and clean.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing8 -
I got woken up by workmen today so I went out to the Re:Loved Havens Hospice shop for a mooch. It is beautiful bright weather, but bitterly cold. I am meeting a couple we know next week and I might also be meeting two friends I haven't seen in a while so I thought a new outfit might be in order. This shop is not cheap, but they do have a lot of quality items.
I found an M&S black biker (faux leather) jacket (it looks almost brand new) and a "gold" butterfly necklace and another blue necklace in there. I booked a haircut for next week too as one of the friends I haven't seen since 2019 and I didn't want to look a scruff! Lol.
I didn't find any socks, slippers or wellies again, though.
I was looking for a teapot to match the dinner set I bought as the teapot is missing, but I only found a Denby one that didn't match my one at all as it was pastel colours and my set is black and white.2025 GOALS
