Wednesday - just thought of you. Just seen a black and white Denby set for sale on our local Facebook pages 😀5

Waving excitedly to all and saying I have been reading along while I've been hibernating and have much enjoyed hearing about others finds, I'm particularly envious of @C_J's KitchenAid mincing attachment the other day.
I ventured out to the library and my favourite Bhf shop for the first time for ages yesterday. I got rather a ticking off at the library because one of my books was due back last Monday so I spent some time apologising and generally grovelling, the heating and the lift so I didn't have to bend my knees tackling the staircase were worth it I think.
Anyway, I struck rather lucky in the Bhf shop and bought a non-stick eclair tray, a bain marie pot, 29 little metal pie dishes, a WI baking book and a wartime recipe leaflet collection for the grand total of £12.
Here they are, the thing that looks like a silver Darth Vader helmet is the bain marie pot upside down (just in case anyone was wondering).16 -
Son is eyeing the eclair tray with curiosity. If he & his brother share talent, one may hammer a tray while the other figures choux pastry & then Any Hope for my figure (other than round) is lost. Happy way to go!9

Better out than in.....dropped off a bag to the Margaret Green shop (local animal charity) and managed to not buy anything.
I was a bit tempted by Nadia Bakes - brand new by the looks of it - and a used but good Jamie Cooks. 2 books for £1 total. But the last thing I need is cook books assuming I would ever use them as I'm not much good at following recipes. I'd get a Nigella book if I saw one but OH would probably get all shouty for me supporting the wrong side (he's from a family of socialists so her family connection counts heavily against her even if her lemon drizzle recipe is excellent.). Disappointed that there was absolutely no art books - not that I actually need any of course.

Not a huge amount for me. A large silver tote bag £4.50 and a large blue grey backpack £5. Both originally from Accessorise.

I would never buy anything new from Next because they’re big donors to the Tories. However I have no problem buying Next stuff in the charity shops as none of that money goes to Next. So if you see a Nigella book in the CS I would tell your OH it’s a way of wealth redistribution.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

That raises a good question. Would you avoid certain charity shops because of who they are/what they do?There’s a shop I avoid because I don’t like how they use the money they get, but I don’t think twice about any of the others. If I see a thing I want to buy I’ll buy it regardless of who’s selling it.Does anyone else do that…?Why does Sherlock Holmes love Mexican restaurants? Because they give him case ideas.3

Oh and I would’ve bought a Nigella book too. It’s not like any of the money would be going to her, so why deprive yourself 😁Why does Sherlock Holmes love Mexican restaurants? Because they give him case ideas.2
