I suppose it all goes towards increasing the step count but I do rather resent being forcibly exercised IYKWIM.
Anyway, I popped into the Bhf shop again and snapped up these two little bargains for £2.50.
I'm not entirely sure that I'll ever make ravioli the size of stamps but I do like to be prepared should the urge seize me!Tell me when it happens and I will finally use my pasta maker and SS ravioli mould

I went to get my hair cut today in Westcliff so I went to the charity shops in Hamlet Court Road as I had never been to those ones. I was still on the hunt for a teapot, but I didn't find one in the five charity shops there. I am definitely going back there for a longer look as they are all clustered together on the street.
I popped into a second hand shop called Sally's on my way home and found this teapot. The lady behind the counter said it was a Noritake which was a nice make. It doesn't match the set I have but close enough.

(I prefer indestructible SS).
Sally's is expensive compared to Les & Gary's, let alone a chaz.No man is worth crawling on this earth.

Don't look at how much that sells for from china replacement services! As long as you're happy, that's what matters. Says she, happily surrounded by crates & crates of unmatched & unsorted Denby (I will get around to sorting it, someday)... That's an excellent price - you did very well!5

Dig for Victory - I did google it after and it is an expensive brand. I just picked it because I liked the look of it.:)
Rosa - Sally's is an interesting shop and I hadn't been in there before, which is strange as Les & Gary's is right next door and I have been in there at least 10 times since I moved here. I could imagine spending time just looking through everything in Sally's one day.2025 GOALS

I know it's not everyone's cup of tea 😂, but.... Behold my new glasses case, bought for the princely sum of £2 from the PDSA. I'll definitely be able to find my glasses on the sofa, and at work now 🤪😂🤪.

I have bought from Sally's before won't trouble them again. My mum had a poor experience there a while ago: she asked what the price of an unmarked item was, the lady there sized her up, decided she was well-heeled before plucking a silly figure out of the air!Wednesday2000 said:Dig for Victory - I did google it after and it is an expensive brand. Nice find in the Brain Tumour Shop this afty....another House of Bruar item! A winter dress in black watch pure wool tartan, fitted, knee length stylee with a navy velvet peter pan collar and 3/4 sleeves with velvet turn back cuffs, fully lined, even the sleeves. Looks completely unworn but no tags - original price £145.95, found one selling on FleaBay for £92. Gorgeous fabric and really well made. Just a touch snug at the moment but I'm determined to shift the Christmas tonnage.
Also got a thermal, fine jersey long sleeved T-shirt in a pale biscuit colour, £1.15 in the Community Shop. Ideal for layering in this weather......current state of play, 4 layers in the house, 6 outside

Especially for children. They grow out of it so quickly and my daughter is clumsy and falls over/ruins clothes with stains, mud, food, rips etc. Even children’s books can expensive sometimesCherryfudge said:
There's a whole academic paper in there: the role of charity shops in feeding the carbon footprint of the textile industry.sarahj1986 said:
Children’s clothing in CS is insanely priced. I’ve seen a few thing for my daughter £3-4 for a basic pair of leggings. I can get a multipack for less than a tenner in Tesco/Asda. Basic tops £4-5 each. I remember these things used to cost less than a quid. When I can buy brand new for cheaper it’s a no brainer.eileenfromplaistow said:Our hospice shops have gone boutiquey and pricey since the pandemic. On Friday i heard a volunteer saying " no room for donations of childrens clothes at the moment" to a customer - i was looking at the rail knowing exactly why the stuffs not shifting.!
Of course they aren't the only ones, but if they can be undercut by cheap new clothes suppliers, of course people will go there, and the charities won't get the sales.:money::rotfl::T7 -
I had a look at the House of Bruar dress on Fleabay @Miró and think you've got a bargain there, well spotted on the thermal top as well. I'll be glad when I don't need to wear my layers any longer, roll on warmer weather I say."She could squeeze a nickel until the buffalo pooped."
