Shop Charity in '23!

Since I started to declutter this year - I have been very strict with myself about buying from charity shops. The few bits that I have bought were with a purpose in mind - eg - for doll dresses.
We will look in charity shops when we are away next month as often find good quality stuff there.

Seeing the Northern Lights - wow! I understand they are easier to see through a camera, but I've never managed it at all. I did love seeing the Milky Way over our back garden back in the day, but there's too much background light now. 

I don't think you really regret Japan and Norway, somehow.  

Fingers crossed I will see them in March when they peak - I'm off on a cruise to Iceland for my 60th present to myself 😊

Oh snap!!  We're heading up to north of Norway and so hoping we get a good view of them.  OH (almost literally) has he heart set on seeing them!  19th March start date!!!  Now off to see how much of a clash this might be to a planned family event in Canada when we're supposed to have a full eclipse over my mom's farm.

I love having a rummage to see what goodies can be found. I also like getting better quality for a fraction of the price whilst leaning away from fast fashion. 

I draw the line at previously worn undies, socks and shoes. I walk a lot so I’m hard on my footwear and my grandad was a shoe maker & repairer who could also make inserts/adapt shoes to correct foot problems. I can’t be doing with the potential problems to my feet caused by other peoples tread (or risk my grandad coming back to haunt me, telling me ‘I told you so’.  😉). 

I’ve also picked up some useful house bits from charity shops including coffee tables, kitchenalia/pots and pans, plant pots, lamp shades, DVDs and books, so many books. The DVDs and books often get re-donated or passed on to others so I tend to think of it as a library with nominal rental fee!

The port of Tilbury is tiny! And doesn't have the same traffic issues and Portsmouth and Southampton can (although to be fair the roads have been well planned to minimise congestion). When you come back it may be worth visiting the Lady McAdam store.

I love the chaz for many reasons but its primely a treat for myself. I need very little and wear things to death but just love having more. If I decluttered and donated I would buy it straight back again because of the "this is nice" moment I get. For me its books and bric-a-brac (usually kitchenware) first, then clothes. I never buy footwear from the chaz, I know what suits my feet and always buy BN.
