Shop Charity in '23!

Being haunted by something I didn’t buy, (but should have,) in one of the Northallerton charity shops! Twas a pair of 50’s stylee cocktail glasses in uranium glass, £3 for the pair They really were glowing that weird green colour just under the shop lights. Ho hum. Instead came away with a b/n White Company sleep eye mask from the 50p table.
Went to the Bedale car boot, and got soaked. Found nothing as the sellers either covered up their wares or packed up and left when the rain hit. The Bloke did buy an enormous and scary looking hedge trimmer, eeek, must not upset him for the forseeable future! Sadly the Woodfield car boot was cancelled due to the field being too muddy and wet. ☹️
@Brie Hope you manage to get the Limoges and the paintings home with you!7 -
@Miró Yorkshire sounds like its been a soggy affair today! Its been absolutely beautiful here today on the Essex Riviera, I headed down to the pier and it was actually HOT. For what should be autumn I was amazed. Brought back down to earth as the one and only chazzer I visited (Barnardo's, High St) had nothing that caught my eye.
@Wednesday2000 - I know The Cornerstone was having a refurbishment sale today, did you get to go? I encouraged my Mum to if only for the HM marmalade she enjoyed last year.No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.6 -
We got home from Scotland to see Yorkshire looking very washed, @Miró. Disappointing not to get your car booting done, and a shame about the uranium glasses. I sometimes see them on a Facebook site and they're extraordinary.
I went back to Jedburgh Sue Ryder before we headed south, so I have a pink jumper, £4.75, no idea what make but it's lacey and has a ruched front. Unusual. I also got a black sleeveless top, Monsoon, £2.75. Delighted as this is the sort of thing that always goes in my case if I'm abroad as it will dress up or down.
I've spent far too much on clothes in the last week, thanks to leaving my case on the bed at home! A cardigan, a jumper, jeans, three tee shirts, a long-sleeved top, pyjamas and my beloved grey wool wrap. My sister didn't want the red cardi so I'm trying to think if I can alter the collar to bring it into this century as the fabric is great quality. She did accept the blue tee shirt so I feel very slightly less guilty than I did.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
The sun's been out and I think I’m solar powered (Onebrokelady)

You did so well @Cherryfudge after leaving your case at home. I think I'd have freaked out!
Intrigued by those glasses @Miró and shame about the car boots.
I found a Mint Velvet jumper in Oxfam yesterday for £5.99. It's a soft grey with a heart motif on the sleeve and side. Definitely contains angora or mohair so I'll have to wear a tshirt under. Also found another hand painted Whittards mug for 99p in PDSA to sell on for my charity.Cross-stitch WIP: Fiver Friday challenge 2025 founding member 😊 Read 25 books in 2025 11/25 Currently reading The Cliff House by Amanda Jennings8 -

I went to the PDSA and the Mind and Sue Ryder shops afterwards, but didn't find anything I wanted.5 -

Glorious! What are you going to serve in them? Creme de menthe? Vodka? (Can't quite see cocoa having the right vibe.)
