Nice.:) I used to have two red lamps like that, they both broke, unfortunately.5

What a shame! I’m looking to get a couple of old lamps re-wired at some point as they won’t be up to fire safety standards. And I need to get a fuse for the other one of these as it blew when the bulb blew a few weeks ago. I think it was during a power surge when we had bad weather.Wednesday2000 said:Nice.:) I used to have two red lamps like that, they both broke, unfortunately.“I want to be a glow worm, A glow worm's never glum'Coz how can you be grumpy, when the sun shines out your bum?" ~ Dr A. Depending in the lamp, it can be possible & very satisfying to rewire it yourself. Mind, I fettled an Anglepoise so the stages were clearly laid out in various YouTube videos. Worth having a looksee, as you can save a bundle And have the warm smug glow.6

@kboss2010 love the way you have arranged the books. Mine are rather unimaginatively arranged by size.
This weeks finds:
Large brown leather Autograph shoulder/tote bag £6.50.
Grey Levi’s tee shirt with big red Levi’s logo on the front £5.
Next white tee shirt will a frilly shirttail £2.50
Boots big tub of vanilla scented Shea butter body lotion £1
A Month in the Country by JL Carr £2.49. It’s one of my favourite novels and I like to reread it, but had lost my copy.
A book of David Almond short stories £1.99. A fabulous children’s author from my neck of the woods. These stories are for adults.
I suspect lots of people on here will be horrified at how expensive the books are. I tend not to buy many books in CS as I have loads to read on my shelves and my Kindle, but I had to have these.8 -
@kboss2010 I now have lamp envy!!!6

Having hailed its coming and been disappointed last week, Bedale car boot sale is again rained off today.
I have to remind myself that three years ago it didn't happen at all due to lockdown, and this way I save time, space and money.
I won't give a blow by blow update throughout the season - the car boot has a Facebook page and general info is on the Town Council web page.
Happy hunting today, one and all.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
The sun's been out and I think I’m solar powered (Onebrokelady)

Completely agree about the colour coding of the books @kboss2010 , it adds an ambience! And if you want to get rid of your Tiffany-style lamps, I will happily relieve you of them.No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.5 -
Haha if I ever sell them, you get first dibs!Rosa_Damascena said:Completely agree about the colour coding of the books @kboss2010 , it adds an ambience! Thanks for posting about the CB. I didn't go as I thought it would be cancelled due to the ground probably being sodden. Is it announced on the Facebook page about cancellation, (didn't realise they had a page!!)?Cherryfudge said:Having hailed its coming and been disappointed last week, Bedale car boot sale is again rained off today.

I have no plans to visit any chazzers today but am fully enjoying my music system. Currently playing Dolly Parton / Bargain Store: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K94QvVXoHCYNo man is worth crawling on this earth.
