Thanks Jwil and RandomOne - retail sucks. Although yesterday wasn’t too bad. I was sale pricing most of the night.

    Anyway, Merry Christmas everybody. 🎄

I’m off to my sister’s later this morning and am staying over a couple of nights.

Another one who used to work till 7.00pm on both Xmas and NYE. We did once have a manager who decided everyone had to work one of the eves, so everybody had a t least one early finish.  When I had finished it was straight to the chippy for tea.xx

Hi everyone - I hope you all had a lovely Christmas. I did with my family, but it was too short as usual. Back at work on Tuesday and last night. In tonight and then not back until Thursday next week, which is great.

I have decided what debts we are tackling for January - three in total:

    PayPal - £339.08
    Tesco CC - £534.90 (OH's)
    Capital One CC - £875.64 (OH's)

OH is getting some extra pay in January from selling leave, so he's going to put that towards the Capital One CC. Might not clear all of it, but it'll get rid of a massive chunk.

My daily tasks for January are:
    1. List 10 items on eBay
    2. List 5 items on Vinted (use Vinted to get rid of stuff that won't sell for much on eBay or stuff that's not selling quickly on there)
    3. Accurately record stock, profit, etc (I do this now, just need to be more organised as I often forget to write stuff down and then have to remember how much something was etc).
    4. Aim for £100 payout on eBay and Vinted each day (not always easy to control obviously, but listing each day helps, and some days will be more, some will be less - I want to average out over the month) - this isn't £100 profit each day, as payouts on eBay include postage costs and then the cost of the item I've sold.
    5. Get my office/stock room and garage space sorted and organised to the level I want it.
Also trying to cut our expenditure back in January. We've got 2 weeks of Hello Fresh starting from 4th January with 40% off, so that will really help us avoid takeaways (4 meals for both of us for the amount we would usually spend on one takeaway). I also want to get more reduced/free food. I got a free turkey crown from work yesterday as they had so many that were just going to be chucked (frozen and it's now in our freezer - will do a nice roast dinner one day and we can use the leftovers for sandwiches).

One more evening at work. One more evening at work. One more evening at work.

Last night wasn’t great. 4 hours on till, 2 of those completely on my own. Not good when you get a queue. I don’t know if I can do another Christmas in retail. It just sucks all the joy out. You’re often working right up to Christmas Day, so you can’t relax and get into festive mode, plus then straight after you have to go through the hell that is New Year Sale.

Anyway, only working 3.30-6.30 tonight and then back on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday next week.

Everything is all wrapped up and ready to go. Just need to drop a card off to my friend later today.

I know that feeling. I left my job in food retail in July. I have just had my first Christmas off work in 25 years. Every year of my adult life I had worked Christmas Eve and Boxing Day. While it felt good, I didn't feel as christmasy this year if that's a thing.

Hi. Yes I do. We have used them in the past, but they used to charge £4.99 for click and collect, which annoyed me a bit. Don’t know if they still do.

    HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!

I’m raring to go with my goals and debt repayments!! I spent most of yesterday at my sisters, but still managed to get 10 listings on eBay and 5 on Vinted to start the year off.

Lots have sold, so I’ve got 16 parcels to pack later and I’ve got over £300 coming in tomorrow from Friday, Saturday and Sunday’s sales.

Might not be able to pay too much off any debt until Friday when OH gets paid though. Although I’ll see how it goes.

Going to try to get my listings and parcels done ASAP so I can get to work on getting my stock room/office how I want it.

    Have a great day everyone
