This important question was asked in 2009, eliciting responses of, "Goodness NO!" and also "OF COURSE!"
Pets and christmas gifts
In 2021 I asked a similar one, which got many more yeps than nopes:
Do your pets get birthday presents?
Now I'd like to know, in the winter of 2022, as the people you are now...

Normally no, although DD does. However, this year with just one dog now, yes, we've bought her a new toy.Spend less now, work less later.1

My answer hasn't really changed from 2021. My cats get special Christmas food (this year the classic 'prawn cocktail' - prawns in a salmon lick-e-lix sauce, garnished with a sprinkle of catnip) but not much else - they got a catio back in March which is the majority of this years cat budget spent.
I'm at the inlaws for Christmas Dinner - they have a dog, so I've picked up a packet of her favourite treats to take with me. Little gesture, but it keeps me in her good books!1 -
No. He never even sends me a card! Now a gainfully employed bassist again - WooHoo!2

She already has enough toys to stock a pet shop! On Christmas day, she is happy to have a good play in the ripped off wrapping paper, followed by a dish of turkey.1

Yes and my Mum buys them for him too! He also has a 'present' obsession and will open them early if left out. We don't put presents under the tree until Christmas day for this reason.0

Yes. This year I've got my furbaby a crockery raised water bowl, in the shape of a cat head with the cutest face on it.
Only a few more days until I find out if she likes it.
Got her some nice soup and treats too.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.0 -
Yes, wrapping paper, hours of fun.Last time we bought a Christmas present for our eldest boy (when he was a juvenile) at Christmas it was a fishing rod and he dragged it everywhere with him.The bell was annoying and I had to sleep with it under my pillow that night. He loved it and even fished it out the bin and hid it for 2 days when it reached the end of its life.May you find your sister soon Helli.
Sleep well.2
