With 18 x top ups there, if you went into EC each time before topping up for example that could equate to up to £90 of "invisible" top ups which is quite substantial.
The "invisible" top ups is not correct and the EC is a bit misleading , what actual happens is we buy top up via an app this is recorded on the bill as a top up payment. The £ value on the meter is only really to show you that you are running out or you should top up, the EC is there if there is an issue but it taken back off the top up so you never get in to debit.
The bill shows what you have toped up over the month , and we have checked that against bank statements and its correct , and how much electric we have used + standing charge ( the standing charge is payed by the cost of the units being slightly higher than normal) we have also checked the usage on the meter and the units are +/- a few units that is listed on the bill.
Taking all of that in account , using round figures we did £600 of top ups and used £350 worth of electric calculated on the cost per unit on the bill . But we are being told we are only £1.50 in credit and the debit has only reduced by £22 so theres over £200 missing0 -
How much debt is being taken off each time you do a £20 top up?No free lunch, and no free laptop0

If you look at the top ups made from 17-11 to 13-12 (£140) that is £14 @10% If you them take 10% from the 01-12 £67 that takes you to £21 (if rounded up)
You seem to be looking at the £639 top ups that were made over 3 months on just the debt reduction 15-11 to 15-12 which is just 1 month.
Yes the 15-10 to 15-12 reduction on the above is only £44. So is still short.Life in the slow lane0 -
macman said:Yes, but what is it actually doing on the meter? If you have say £5 credit, and you add £20, it should display the new credit balance as something less than £25. If it's 10%, it should reduce to £23.
No, the unit cost per KW/h on the meter is slightly higher than what's shown on the bill this is why the EC etc. is misleading.
The way its all set up it prevents you from getting more than £5 in debit . The important thing is at each billing cycle the total amount toped up should be slightly more that the cost of the electric used , or in my case 20% more to pay the debit
here's the meter cost as of now which shows 32.07 pKWH where as the bill shows 30.54 pKWH
