The standing charge dates cover 91 days. Bill says 75 days from the 1st Oct for standing charge which takes us to 15th Dec, I'd expect to see that meter reading there.

there are another 16 days sc on bill.
Yes, they are for the dates in September. The standing charge cost takes us to 15th Dec but energy usage doesnt.

Even if you disregard the meter debt, the figures don't make sense.

You have got a previous debt of £970 on the meter. The problem is that you are only paying that off at about £10 a month. At that rate it will take you about 9 years to clear the debt. What debt repayment rate was agreed when the PPM was installed?
You haven't posted the gas bill, but presumably the same thing applies-you have substantial debt on each supply,
Contact your supplier and agree a more realistic debt recovery on the PPM.
Your lecy usage is quite high for a property that presumably has gas CH and DHW?

There is no debit on the gas bill we were switched from a supplier that went bust the debit was from that as we were monthly DD and as we were switched jan/feb we had accrued the debit. we were told that as the debit was quite high we had to go to PPM to reduce it .

The debit repayment is the other thing that's wrong, we agreed 10% of the top ups would go to the debit  so it should be coming down by 60-80 per month   but its not according to the bills !

none of the figures add up or even come close and its been like this for months. we always pay 250-300 more, and that's shown on the bill,  each month than the bill says we used

This makes no sense. You only get switched to a PPM if you fail to agree a repayment plan on the credit meter, or agree a repayment plan and then breach it. Then a PPM would be enforced. Suppliers don't fit them for fun, as there is a considerable cost to do so, way above the £150 that is the maximum they can charge for a warrant.
You have PPM's for both fuels, but you said there was and is no debt on the gas. Why would they then fit a PPM on both supplies, rather than just the leccy?
Why have you not queried the low debt repayment months ago, if you agreed 10%?  It would be visible each time you topped up that they were only taking a tiny amount.
Have you made a formal complaint, in writing (not by phone)?

It's almost as if they are missing a read on the meter from the 17th Dec?
could be they are counting a reading thats been missed off the bill for some reason.

but they would have had to have used nearly as much energy in the one month from 17 november to 17 dec as they did in the time from 17 september to 17 nov for that to add up.

as they have said they have gas (im guessing heating) then that would be unexpected even given the cold snap.

  • Is the discrepancy possibly that they are taking the agreed 10% against the debt, but that’s not being reflected on the bill, perhaps?

That can easily be established by doing a top up and seeing how much credit is actually added.

if the op is interested in suggestions for what to do next. the most sensible thing would probably be to contact bulb and ask them about the bill  (then come back and tell us so other people with the same problem can find the answer)

they do web chat and email which are probably easiest because then a copy of the bill can be sent for them to see.

Thats the only thing I can think of. It would be weird to get a bill with a standing charge to the 15th Dec but not to be charged usage up until the same date.
