Topscooby said:Ok, here goes for my September update… and @thegreenhouse , so sorry to hear about your 4th hit of the old Covid…I’ve only had it once and that was more than enough
I hope you fully recover soon
Anyways, September is (already) proving to be a bit of a spendy month as I’ve just received my car insurance renewal and it’s up by 33%!. I’ve tried all the comparison websites (and the ones that they miss) but my renewal price with my existing insurance company (Aviva) is still the cheapest/best even with the increase
With this in mind I’ve decided to simply round up our total to a nice easy figure…and fully plan to make up for it next month
Therefore,
#86 Topscooby £61.46 for September, which gives us a nice round £2000 for this year so far!
As ever, many thanks must go to @enthusiasticsaver for continuing to keep the momentum in this thread/challenge and Good Luck to everyone participating with your savings goals!
Until next month……
Andy
That said, my September and October will also be very expensive, so I feel you there! I'm going to the US for the trek, then a conference in Seattle, then a meeting in New York. I get expenses but none for food. Food is one of my top hobbies and what with American tipping culture I expect to spend a LOT. Pray for me haha.
Sorry about your car insurance and keep going this month with what you can!

Hi all,
I was away hiking last week in Lancashire and Cheshire on my latest JoGLE stage (in a flipping heatwave). The horror is that I've accidentally DELETED my random number app - I could weep!
I'd been tracking the numbers used on a spreadsheet on my work laptop, so I think I'll just start choosing random numbers each day that haven't yet been used. Will sort that tomorrow when I'm WFHNeed to do a transfer for last week.
Hope you are enjoying your break @enthusiasticsaver
