Hi all, just caught up again but it is very late and I am very tired so will just say hugs to all who want them
I have been quite good today. This morning I stomped on the union frog and emptied the kitchen bin and the kitchen recycling before I had had my 3rd cup of tea. Then I passed a bottle of wine in to ln for her daughter who had printed something for OH. It was only 1 piece of paper but it saved us a whole world of hassle now I can't do it at work. We would probably have had to go to the library. I have done that before but it really isn't as easy as it should be. Then I spent a while sorting a footie ticket for OHs nephew from my nephew who is still lounging on a beach in Goa. Then I sat on the laptop for over an hour in a queue for a different footie ticket for me. I was unsuccessful but at least I tried and it is on telly so not completely heartbroken. After lunch I dealt with the post, sorted straight away and then back to the mess in the corner of the lr. It has taken ages and I seemed to make more of a mess sorting it than leaving it
. In between I put the washing machine on and sent a text to OHs niece who is pregnant to offer to help with her packing as she is moving house at the end of the month. One of my best skills is packing boxes
so
93 union frog
94 kitchen bin
95 kitchen recycling
96 bottle of wine to ln
97 footie tickets sort out
98 post dealt with
99 - 101 bags of recycling from lr
102 bag of rubbish from lr
103 dried washing put away and load done today and put on maiden
104 OOD food binned
105 old hub found and pre paid post bag to recycle it found YAY so bagged up to go to the post office tomorrow.
A lot of stuff sorted but I did find some treasure, 10 beautiful green heart shaped buttons that I had completely forgotten about. Also found 2 frogs that are on the list for tomorrow.
Take care everyone

Feels a total battle keeping anything tidy! Downstairs is a tip, not all me but my bedroom is all me, complicated by working with my printer/pc and files
Need to move to action and hope to report later... moving deckchairs is not enough!18 -
QueenJess said:For those feeling overwhelmed, I often feel it as well and I am meant to "just" be maintenance decluttering (aka holding back the tide of kids stuff ever coming through the door!). Forget the overall picture and do something, anything. Even if just picking up some rubbish, looking at a single shelf or whatever. I like to look at a small bit of whatever stresses me out the most as it's almost always not quite as bad as I've built it up in my mind. Or, look for some quick wins to make yourself feel better and spur you on. If you combine that with concentrating on bringing fewer things in, then you'll be surprised how quickly the tide can turn.
For me, last week I returned most of the clothes to M & S and got a refund of £68.00. Woohoo! I'll return the last piece of clothing tomorrow because it really doesn't it. These were mostly bras. I'm still finding it difficult to get comfortable bras over here in the UK vs. back in the US. Maybe I should look to places like Bravissimo next or something. The Gap used to be reliable for me but they never seem to have my size anymore.
I still have to try on the Boden clothes so will take a stab at those tomorrow. I'm out at a craft workshop all day and when I get home I'll likely just want dinner, a shower, a book and bed.
Another win: we finally received our IKEA order this Wednesday which included a new dresser that Mr. Jings has been assembling over the past couple days. Well on Wednesday evening we knew we had to put out the paper recycling for Thursday morning so we managed to get as much cardboard out of the house as possible. It was tons, accumulated from Christmas deliveries, etc. He's been using a lot in the garden for laying down beds but he said the garden couldn't absorb anymore and we still had piles left.
So the house is a bit clearer but it still looks like a bomb went off.Tomorrow I'll work on transferring some clothes from our old dresser to the new one. That and trying on the Boden clothes. Bit by bit.
Have a good day all!

Good Morning All!! I have woken up quite achy and tired from the emotions and exertions of the last few days. DS & I walked a LOT yesterday - plus had a couple of very deep and quite challenging conversations. DS is processing a lot about the time leading up to his episode and his recovery which is great but sometimes it wears me out.
I have a clear day today which I am going to use to catch up on some stuff - mainly admin. Tired as I am I feel in quite "edgy" mood so I think gentle pottering and sorting will be more therapeutic for me than trying to relax. Having said that, if I get tired later I will go with the flow....
Thank you for your Birthday Wishes - NannyWindow, Mrs SD, Charliestribe, Vulpix & TC77.

Tidied my bedroom as surfaces had started to pile up again. Just a couple of things to find homes for.
Mission Control has started to build up again with unfinished tasks. Will have a go at getting them done over the weekend. The using up of food items getting close to their bb date is going well - several batches of soup and veggie stews in the freezer.
Next week is busy with hospital appointments etc so decluttering will start in earnest the following week.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅18 -

Awww peatles_2 I miss those lovely times when my kids were young. Rainy day family tasks. Enjoy .
My Mum will be going to stay with my brother for a start. She says if it doesn't work out she will sell the house and go in a care home. I am channeling my inner Mhagster. Luckily several years ago my teenagers and I spent our 6 weeks school holidays emptying the loft, garage ,greenhouse and shed. They were stuffed to their roof. Mum is not a hoarder but she certainly has a lot of stuff. Not looking forward to this as brother and I don't play well together!
I have got my passwords folder out. Mr V knows we are updating but is dealing with the shop atm. FB sales.

Thankyou @vulpix Thankyou @TC77
@vulpix That is a big decision on your Mum's part. Good luck with all the sorting that decision implies.
DS1 is officially split from his wife and stayed a second night. He was very upset and he has been here before but before they had a child.
We did a financial healthcheck. He can't afford much in rent but my Dear Departed Sister's partner is renting a room and open to negotiation. Fingers crossed. DS1 has gone back before, she may change her mind again. His heart is broken: not for her, that was a ship that sailed ages ago. Its more to do with their son who he deeply loves. Poor sod.
We did more work on the box room and my FiL bedroom yesterday. DH fixed the glass in a bookshelf and cleared the floor, hung pictures and tried to set up his second hand DVD player. Unfortunately the power cable was wrong and the remote control was for an air conditioning unt. It was from a CS I think.
I went through threee more boxes of stuff to sell and have placed them in store under DD bed. I have done a map of the boxes there so I know where everything is. As each box comes out I will be taking out anything that is not good and donating but that was not the point this time.
Today I have to find the item I have just sold online to send and I am in the CS this afternoon. Trying to rest in the evenings as I am feeling worn out and achy.
