Has stayed dry today - but definitely raining tomorrow and Sunday.
49 - Roommates took in 7 bags of bottles and cans for recycling. A third of the money goes for household items (paper towels this time), and the two that take it in get to split the rest. Only way I can seem to get them motivated to take them in.
50 - Still no Internet of my own and no landline. Will have to contact them again for the tenth time.
51 - Finished reading another book for the Winter Reading Program.
52 - Paper recycling box is half full again. Trying to fill it by Sunday.
53 - Did two loads of laundry as I was running out of clothes. I keep three weeks worth of underpants and socks, and 21 face flannels (as I use 1 a day). And I only had a two day supply left. Realized I have 10 tops only, so have to wash more often for these. I try to use each one for two days - but this only gives me twenty days before I have to do the laundry. Remembered to wash the dish towels today also. No one else ever remembers. Washing every almost three weeks has helped keep our gas bill down. Got a notice from the gas company to expect double-sized bills next month! Might be cheaper to buy more tops at the local charity shops and invest in more underclothes (the socks I get free as a diabetic with my health insurance) but not sure where to store everything. Everything has to go in drawers or boxes on shelves as can't raise my arms to hang anything on a closet pole unless I have it really lowered. Have considered that.

Evening All
Continuing with the paperwork decluttering, 73 pieces shredded, 25 recycled. Have finished the second box, went quite quickly as 25% of this box was to do with my parents, funeral stuff mostly, so this has just been put to one side for now.
If I keep going at this rate I'll have gone through all 6 boxes by the end of the month!
I have got the third box out to start on tomorrow and the 2 holdalls full of, I don't know what, to start on tomorrow also.
Well done everyone, its only the 13th day of the new year and look how much stuff we've collectively decluttered already. I love seeing everyone's lists, big and small, it's very motivating!Start where you are, use what you have, do what you can

Draw of documents mainly car, camper mots and registration info sorted and filed. It surprisingly produced a bag of paper to be shredded 😂 everything can be easily found now at least. I’m thinking of the future too and have had a safe fitted - sorry no money in it 😩but lm going to put all my account details and passwords in it so my daughter can find everything when l do pop off. I have given her the code and key fingers crossed it won’t be for a few years but who knows.Count down to retirement 202316

Many happy returns Energy Shifter.xxxxxxxxxxxxxx Sounds like you had a lovely day.
Bored this evening so went through the drawers in my wardrobe and my bedside drawers. Still finding things to go. Will list them tomorrow.
My Mum says she is not going home after this temporary stay in the care home. Shocked is not the word. I never ever thought she would give up her independence. My mind is racing now with all I will have to do. My frogs will have to be shelved for a while I think, particularly getting DS's book published.
What a good idea shabbychic12. Mr V and I only have a vague idea of each others passwords. Of course mine are written down but his are in his head. I promise I will eat this frog tomorrow.

@joanie there are a few of us here with a love/hate relationship with our tradesmen.I generally like to be around as I’m nosey and curious but as we’ve been doing various renovations/upgrades my tradesmen are generally part of the family now. Albeit family members I have in depth conversations about 1920s and later building techniques, 1960s wiring, the quality of the brass waste trap on my bath and the arcane secrets of carpenters…..(who knew that a slightly loose screw can be sorted with a cocktail stick). Oh and half of them are in the same motorbike club (mustn’t say again that I’m working my way through bike club!).Even the British Gas engineer has been here so often I remember his drink order and we have a chat about his dog and little boy!✒️ Declutter 2025👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)

Sorry @crazy_cat_lady no help with your quandary. Our dogs were odd, they used to like to be hoovered. One used to lie there and laugh, the other had a tendency to get amorous if hoovered for too long. It was the only time he’d get frisky too.✒️ Declutter 2025👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)

Good evening. Happy birthday EnergyShifter!
Hugs to anyone that needs them.
Thank you to those that mentioned my fingers, i can't remember who (and my thanks button doesn't work on my phone either) Fingers are a bit tender to touch but absolutely fine this morning.
Finally rang mr t this morning, they still cant locate the parcel lost in the dpd warehouse (since13 dec) so refund has been issued. Spent this afternoon starting to empty the boys room into the living room to make decorating easier. I've gone through 2 boxes full of tiny bits of broken toys, fame pieces, pens, books, millions of pokemon cards.... I've taken out what I know is rubbish and I'll let DS2 have a look before he puts it back in. DS1 (19) would have thrown the lot but DS2 (17) has development delay so doesn't want to part with all his toys yet.
I have thrown hundreds of bits (action figure limbs, random wheels, bits of plastic that probably belonged to a toy years ago) I filled an 80 litre tub with the rubbish so going for 1 point each 5 litres.
Now laid in bed watching Nick Knowles!

Vulpix, hugs , can you see your mum.making the decision herself. My dad was determined to stay at home but after several falls and stay at hospital he said he didn't want to.go home. They did say he could but he didn't want to and we had to hunt for somewhere to go.as he wouldn't go.home even for a few days.
