How many pencils does anyone need? I already have many many pens and pencils and my DD2 has acquired a similar penchant for stationery. Now at my dad's and sorting through a mid century bureau I'm bringing home, - already brought back a pencil case of H and B pencils assorted and now found many dozen more from all the tiny pencils from diaries from around 1960 onwards to many others, many stubs! Far beyond SABLE.... I haven't found the pencil extender that QueenJess I think had and I had seen but found a smaller silver coloured one.
Another warning, on my way out of the house picked up my phone and found it didn't work and then realised an old broken one in the same colour case.... I have laptops to send for recycling but need to clear the hard drive but if broken not sure how I do this?
Also found 1980s highway code and similar!! fortunately biros and elastic bands haven't lasted so easy to bin.... trying to be very selective what I bring home12 -
My usual pencil test is to sharpen the pencil and of this isn't easy then it's out. Can't find a pencxil sharpener so starting with those less than 3.5 inches are out. Finding specialist pencils:) boxes of bulldog clips ( always handy in moderation) as well as more niche propelling pens, leads etc. I could be here in 2033!!

I absolutely love that story - the point at which Scrooge opens his heart always makes me cry. it was a wonderful production. Hi all, well I got quite excited today. I had a negative test after 15 minutes jumped in the car and went to get coffee from the drive through. As I was still coughing I did wear a mask and paid by card. By the time I got home it was faintly positive so I am now totally confused.
@weenancyinAmerica I will try to track down that article. I suspect as it is a sneaky virus it is more than capable of leaving bits of itself around that react to the test but as you say you are not infectious. The guidelines seem to say you need a couple of negative tests to be sure but the more I look into it the more confused I get. I think it's like all the guidelines we have ever had, no real help at all. What I have found out though is that nurses are expected to go back to work after 5 days even if they are still testing positive. Where is the sense in that, quite apart from the fact that they might be feeling unwell they are going to work with some very vulnerable people. I'm gobsmacked. Anyway I will test again tomorrow. OH is still very positive and is now not convinced the trip to the family will happen on Monday plus due to go back to work on Tuesday, we shall see.
@Floss sorry to hear that. All I can suggest is you do as little as possible and really take care of yourself so you can enjoy your holiday hugs
@Mrs SD and @DundeeDoll, I couldn't agree more. I have realised that I am definitely an optimist, the glass is definitely half full and while I might be temorarily fed up it's not usually long before I bounce back and that in itself is something to celebrate
@TC77 pens and pencils are a bit of a mystery. There are whole periods of my life when I could never find one when I needed one but now I seem to have loadsI like a pencil when I do sudoku but most of the time I use a pen but I seriously think they are like books and breed when you are not looking. Those specialist pencils are very interesting, I've never seen those type before though I do have a couple of chinagraph pencils for writing on glass from my days working in labs and teaching science, what I want them for now I have no idea
So today I have emptied the lr bin and the kitchen recycling bin. I have put 2 lots of cardboard packaging into the recycling bin and 1 LDFPA. I was going to have a go at my emails but I think someone has been trying to hack into it as I was locked out for too many failed attempts at the password on my first try. I will check tomorrow but it is a bit worrying.
So off to bed, hugs to anybody who would like one

Good Morning chum I'm on the IoW and we went house hunting yesterday Saw one that wasn't't bad but I thought a bit overpriced as it needed updating and a fair bit of redecoration, Probably look at some more today ,
I had a sad text this morning my friends OH passed away last night and so I'm feeling a bit down this morning She asked me to let the rest of our friends fromCoffee morning know so I've been texting and replying for about an hour.He was such a smashing chap full of laughter and fun and I'd known him for 23 years, Sadly cancer of the oesophagus took him off in 7 weeks. I can hardly believe it myself, he was so full of life bless him so it will be the funeral to go to when I;'m home His wife is lovely and she had a major heart operation last year and pulled through yet I've never know Brian to be ill in his life
So at the moment no decluttering until I'm home again in the New Year
