Afternoon Peeps, that's me all caught up many many pages. Struggled a bit with RL still emptying parents house (with other siblings) then had a lovely week in Tenerife with friends back end of Nov early Dec and laughed a lot. Ended up with covid last week as my drinking water was tasting of metal so did a test. Have managed to be making my way back. We had family for Christmas dinner which was nice.
The decluttering has slowed down definitely more in than out but it will turn around. I have noticed in the drawer in my little bureau has now got more space in it. It's a mini success of that drawer being in maintenance mode now.
Well done all and thanks Mrs SD for your support throughout the year.

Good evening. Hope everyone is feeling better and hugs to those that need them.
2 very lazy days here, haven't even got dressed. I made all our Christmas cards and SIL asked if I could make a wedding themed one for Friday so that's taken up most of today as the Christmasones were tge first id tried.
Nothing has left since I last posted but updating the things that left christmas eve. We have bought new dog beds as DD1s dog keeps marking on them, teenage years, ready for neutering, so they'll be replaced tomorrow (as we have him today while they are out).

My spare room looked like the wrappings cupboard had exploded out onto the floor- that’s how frantic the Christmas Eve wrapping session was! I really didn’t feel like it but order needed to be created so I pulled everything out. I sorted through and binned or recycled the things that were too battered to use. Everything was then categorised and sorted into bags, including folding and rolling the reusable items we used this year. I then repacked the cupboard neatly without needing to jam anything in. How long it will stay that way is anybody’s guess! An avocado pear had gone over and an aubergine browned from being too cold so I am disappointed that they had to go into the food waste bin. I froze some fresh raspberries and cooked up some sausagemeat into a meatloaf type thing. I’ll freeze that too. I had thought that I might make sausage rolls but I couldn’t be bothered.Thank you Mrs SD for keeping going with the cheerleading right up until the EDT train is heading into the siding. The TLC carriage has been brilliant this year! It’s nice to know we can rest without leaving the train entirely. I think a good many of us have needed it at times.14 -
Hello all, I've still got one foot in the TLC carriage but managed to limp through xmas. I decluttered 2 medical appointments in the week before xmas but now I have another 2 booked in for next week 😣.
We were invited to DD's on xmas day and DSiL cooked a lovely lunch, then they were all coming here on Boxing day but SiL and DGD were poorly so only Dad, DD and DGS arrived but we had a good time.
Out today a trifle dish that I no longer use, 3 magazines and a pair of DH's slippers which had broken. The fridge has been cleared out today too and nearly everything has been put into the freezer. The turkey carcass has been stripped and the little bits of meat have gone in the freezer ready to make a pie or stew at some point in the future.
We also braved the stormy weather (and luckily missed the heavy rain) to put the full rubbish bin and all the recycling bags and boxes out ready for tomorrow.
Hope everyone had as good a xmas as possible. Hugs to the poorly, sad and lonely ones x

Hi all, well not posted for a couple of days but I have been reading along
. We are both still testing positive, 7 days for me and 6 for OH, but we are slowly feeling a bit better just very easily tired. I had a shower and washed my hair this morning and then had to have a nap
. Some things have come in in the form of presents, a couple of new books and a few edibles and some potted plants. I am ok with all of them but we haven't yet exchanged with OHs family so we still have a load to go out and more to come in. That won't happen until 1st January when OH is going for a family lunch. I have declined as there is a match and I refuse to be stressed by the journey back wondering if I will make it in time. OH is fine with that and I am very happy so win win.
All reusable wrapping has been sorted and put away. Net zero at moment moment on the bag front and by the time we have dropped off all the rest of the presents I am hoping to have a couple less
OH is cooking some scouse so that is helping with the freezer. Ln was kind enough to pick up some milk for us today as that is the only thing we have come close to needing and the fridge and freezer are still full. I have 2 freezers and 1 has been needing defrosting since before christmas so that is a mini target for me and I have told OH no food is coming in until it is done, though I might need bread.
Our recycling bins go tomorrow so I have made sure the full bins in the house have been emptied and it is out now. It is quite full
@flamingo747 re eye shadow, I have no useful advice as I made a decision a few years ago that I didn't wear it often enough to justfy keeping it and I was just wondering if you have had it since before 2019, as that is the date on it, will you use it? Why has it not been used? Is it perhaps because the colours are not your favs so you are using others or is it that you don't wear make up as often as you used to? Either way think about if you really want to keep it or are you keeping it for justin. You can recycle make-up, I have seen bins for it in the am if your concern is not putting it in landfill.
Right off to get a cuppa, hugs to anybody who would like one

@Foofoopuppy well done on being in maintenance mode - I love hearing how people have got there!
And echo the thanks for Mrs SD. And Mrs SD I am looking forward to the encouragement of other travellers and giving some as well.
I have bought a couple of things in the sale but will pass on other items - what I wear for work now back in the office is different to pre-pandemic and also my job changed before and don't do such formal meetings, and with DDs at uni have more time to do things for me.
Have to get rid of some furniture by mid Jan when hopefully my Dnephew will bring stuff from my dad's. Emptying an 8 drawer chest /sideboard in my bedroom which is going to replace a low sideboard I want to get rid of - bought with an ex and I hate. Have 3 of the 8 drawers empty and have some space in the wardrobe. Although have the wardrobe in the spare room fulll and some things in a chest of drawer there so more culling needed!
Take care everyone and esp those affected by the storm.
