Bought next years Christmas cards at the supermarket and a roll of wrapping paper for 50p that will also pass as birthday paper. Also got my neighbour a lovely bouquet of flowers and wine. She is cat sitting for us.I remember something bit by bit told me. Don’t send unused Xmas cards to the charity shop. They throw them away as they sell their own. I suppose that won’t apply to independent charities. She also said to save Christmas decorations till November as most places don’t have storage so will bin them.Vx:15 -
Evening All, I had a lie in until 6.20am this morning. Dd is in bed already. As today was dry we went to a local seaside town for a stroll along the beach. Bought a couple reduced diaries in the RNLI shop, the crew had just returned from a shout. Decluttered our leftovers by inviting Inlaws for tea, yule log and trifle for desert were delicious.
Also done 2 loads of washing, sorted all waste into recycling /bin. Just need to double check the collection date. Planning on a chilled evening as I am working from home tomorrow.

Boxing Day was a damp, grey day 😔 Decluttered some paperwork & emptied my Terramundi Pot re the 2023 “1p Savings Challenge” The money is now available for treats in 2024 aka ‘Happy Cash Stash’ 😉 I have almost finished knitting another scarf. DH did the cooking - bubble & squeak 🤤 The tiny bit leftover was added to other leftovers including venison gravy & droopy vegetables to make a soup. Wudupa.
2544 - 2549 Kitchen recycling, drinks cans, office recycling, 3 Cardboard boxes - recycled
2550 - 2551 Kitchen detritus, non recyclable packaging - binned
Good morning my fellow declutterati 👋 Wednesday is another dark, dreary & damp day 😔 Even with the curtains open I need the light on 😔 I have my first cuppa & the timer is set for 30 minutes……
vulpix, I love it - the landlord must have been so relieved to meet you 😉 Sorry to hear that everyone seems to think that you & MrV like a tipple every couple of hours 😥 Perhaps Secret Santa could be tweaked 🤔 - maybe a short list of items that each person would like to receive 🧐 Sounds like you had a busy day yesterday & an even busier day today 😊 Hope you have a safe trip to Oxfordshire & and enjoy the rest of your Christmas 😊 I will only believe that MrV has given up gigging when he has gone a whole 6 months 😂 I think it keeps him young 😊
TC77, sounds like you have had a lovely Christmas 😊 Very pleased to hear that you brought only a few things home 😉 It sounds like you are gearing up & giving serious thought to a house move in the next couple of years so we will all try to encourage you in your quest to declutter as many Justins as possible 😊
Brie, sounds like you had a lovely Christmas Day & that Boxing Day was fairly quiet as well 😊 The Zoom call across 8 time zones sounds wonderful but I imagine would be very tiring & a logistical challenge 😥 Although I think it should probably be classed as one of the 7 Wonders of the Modern World that family don’t have to travel to ‘see’ each other 😊 Wishing your mum a speedy recovery 🙂
Wednesday2000, now that is real commitment to decluttering having just the one day off 👏 Excellent decluttering 👏 Hopefully the GP can identify why you are so tired & you can start 2024 with more energy 🤞It has been disappointingly mild over the Christmas period - I do miss those crisp, bright & dry days when you wrap up warm & get outdoors. These dark, grey, warm & damp days just drain my energy & make me feel lethargic 😔
flamingo747, I agree with Floss about makeup.
Thanks Floss 👏
Muddy_Walker, sorry to hear that your Christmas was not so good 😔 Although Cwtches from your dogs does sound like a bright spot 😊
Excellent decluttering short_bird 👏 Fingers crossed that your work days are quiet ones 🤞
Posting this now to make sure ‘Good morning’ was an appropriate greeting 😉😉

Now raining 😔 but at least it means I will catch up on the cheerleading 😉
vulpix, already planning for next year - talk about organised 😉 I think between them my DH & DSis bought enough Christmas wrapping paper to last for the next 5 years 😉 Although thoughtfully it is all in one place 😮💨
Fizz2015, what a lovely way to spend Boxing Day - strolling along the beach 😊 Well done on getting the washing done 👏 & hopefully dried outside 🤞
Lovely to see you regnbue 👋 although sorry to hear that you have been confined to the TLC Carriage for so long 😔 Hopefully work will quieten down for the last few days of 2023 & you can go into 2024 fully energised for your continued journey on the road to a clutter free home 🤞 Meanwhile, excellent decluttering to round out 2023 👏
Great work TC77 👏 Your 2024 decluttering campaign will be getting off to a good start 😊
flamingo747, hopefully you can have a few quiet days now 🤞The TLC carriage is still open, so do pop in 🙂 No advice on makeup - as I think the last time I wore any was about 4 years ago 🙊
All caught up, so I think I should start turning my attention to the 2024 Thread 🙂 The 2023 EDT will be pulling into sidings on Friday & the clean up crew will be in making sure we are fully stocked for the start of our 2024 Decluttering Journey. Our driver is being sent on a Speed Awareness course in the hopes that she will start off slowly & only build up speed gradually during 2024 😂

Finally got rid of 60kg cat litter that our cats refused to use. I had tried to sell a couple of times but no joy, and then let down couple of times by collectors. So glad it is gone.
I have also posted a rice cooker up to see if anyone wants to save me having to store it until we can get rid.
Not too many Christmas gifts in, most were consumables which is good.
Have also deliberately avoided going mad with post Christmas sales, there is very little that we need at the moment, and a lot that needs using up so it doesn't become unmanageable again.
Having checked my goals for this year, I am pleased that we have used up quite a few condiments, although still some to go. We have also avoided buying more, except the ones we use obviously.
Candle usage has stayed mostly the same, as I have got more as I have used up, however I'm OK with this because it isn't growing.
Maintenance decluttering has been mostly successful, although this year has seen more in than perhaps was necessary, in part because I decided to treat myself a lot for turning 30 🫣
I'll be confirming my goals in the new thread.
Finally, a huge thank you to Mrs SD, and all the other regular posters and encouragers. I don't post often with being in maintenance now, but I really enjoy reading along. You all deserve flowers 💐 💐💐💐16
