1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks to include MMiM - do this before I go to bed
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with ‘Urgent’ daily mail immediately & the rest at the weekend
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Good morning everyone. I am feeling a bit washed out this morning as only managed 4.5 hours sleep 😔 but I decided against having a lie in 😉 I am not only dressed but I also have my first cuppa & I am ready to press ahead with the cheerleading 🙂
London_1, a very apt observation “I must admit it's such a relief not to have to just shut the door on the clutter as its now slowly disappearing” “Glory Hole” sounds much less intimidating than ‘Room/cupboard of Doom’ 😅 The hand made dolls cot sounds marvellous 🤩 I hope you are only donating some of your wool stash & knitting patterns to the knitting club 😉 after all you will need something to do whilst you are orchestrating/overseeing the big move to the IoW 😅 Excellent decluttering 👏 As to the kindle, might it have been safely loaned to one of your grandchildren 🤔
~FlowerPot~ hopefully you can drop off the charity bags in the New Year to get you off to a flying start for 2024 😊 We are still very lucky here - no need to book a Tip trip 🍀 but then again how much can anyone get in & on a motorbike 😂 Hope you managed to decorate the Christmas tree yesterday 🤞
oceanspirit, sorry to hear that you are still struggling with fatigue 😔 I can see that you have a lot planned but please, please take the time to have frequent rests 🙏🙏 I don’t want to see that that you were too tired to enjoy Christmas 😔 Excellent decluttering 👏 and with the usual proviso of staying safe, good luck with the eating down of store cupboard foods 🍀 I noticed that phrase as well “So 12 nags out. Onwards and upwards. :)” & I was delighted
vulpix, I love the idea of decluttering by stealth 😉 Hopefully with that number of plastic bags, your Mum won’t notice the stash is getting smaller 🤞 Excellent decluttering 👏 & congratulations on exceeding your target for the year 🥳 One Gold Star ⭐️ is winging its way to you as I type.
Crazycatlady2, remember that it is not only the Christmas presents that are going out but also the wrapping paper & gift tags 😉 I think you should find some time to visit the TLC Carriage before the children begin their full time occupation of the house & start clamouring for your attention 24/7 😱
QueenJess, I am exhausted but also so impressed just reading about how much you got done yesterday 🤩 Fingers crossed that the doctor can put your mind at rest about your DD 🤞Excellent work with the tidying & decluttering - especially sorting out the games that your parents dropped off 👏 Hopefully you are now almost done & can put your feet up for a while 🙏🙏
Excellent decluttering Soontobeoap 👏 & congratulations on reaching your target 🥳 One Gold Star ⭐️ on its way.
Gradually catching up (only 5 posts left to read 😮💨) but now I need a little break 😉 I hope the weather is being kind to everyone 🤞

I think I may ask DGS Mikey, as he will be home from Uni tomorrow, its a possibility I loaned him it
Well I will give 10/10 to my smashing DGS Jack he came at 10.30 am this morning and spent three house taking apart my computer desk in my study upstairs as I had got rid of my desktop and only use my lap-top now. He was going to move it to his school house in Goudhurst, but we both decided it would be a bit of a mammoth task as it was fairly big and very heavy.
But bless his heart he managed to break it down ,and take it apart so its going to the tip on Saturday. It weighs quite heavily and bless him his time in the gym has paid off and he carried it all downstairs for me, and its stacked in the porch.
It was a heck of a job to take it apart, but all done and he even hoovered all the bits up afterwards ,
the time flew so he is returning on Friday to finish off the 'glory hole' and the big cupboard in the back lobby.
It really is full of junk, I think at the back somewhere is a bottle of my late husbands Grand Marnier and he passed away in 2003 ! that will definitely go down the sink as I can't abide the stuff, plus its probably turned to syrup by now. After I dropped Jack back to his house I came home and got stuck into another big box that was under the spare room bed. It was full of old medicine and goodness knows what else from 2007when I had breast cancer and most of it was defined for the tip so I put the whole lot in a couple of bags then started on some more books to go to the charity shop tomorrow I was up before light this morning and popped across to the shops and got the last small bit of shopping this year as I'm away from Saturday until the New Year .I'm now sitting with my feet up having earned a nice cup go hot chocolate with marsh mallows and whipped cream.
No more to do today, but a busy one tomorrow though as I shall drop more books and some curtains off at the CS then off to Dobbies for a relaxing coffee and natter with my friends our Tuesday morning chin wag. This time next week we will all be full of turkey or what ever you're having for Christmas lunch if you're lucky enough not to be working.
Onwards and upwards chums

I defeintly need another year of decluttering. So I will be along for the 2024 ride Mrs SD. You are aazing at keeping us all ticking along with your wonderful engouragment. I think its time you had some more flowers xxI failed miserebly to complete my target to declutter all the rooms / spaces in the house. I might have another last ditch attempt, with 2 weeks to go to at least re do the areas I did, which think was only 4 !! very depressing especially as those are now completely in need of doing again!♥️ ♥️ ♥️🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸Decluttering 2025 So far 403 / 2025

I would like to join in for 2024 too.
At the moment my house feels lovely and tidy as now all the painting and flooring is finally done and the rooms are back to the way they were before all the water leak fun! I know I will want to declutter more things once I start looking around more.
My husband had another reaction to his new medication (not as serious this time as I didn't have to call 999 this time!) and so he had to come off that med too. He has just left to hand in the unwanted medication to a local pharmacy.
My hairdresser came round to cut our hair this morning and I have booked an appointment with her at the start of February as I am going out in London that night to a party and I wanted to get my hair trimmed and blow-dried beforehand. I am being very organised and I have just booked a dental checkup for myself for January too.
We are going out for a meal and to see Godzilla at the cinema one day this week and then I am just hibernating at home for the whole of the festive period. I really feel like I barely had time to enjoy being at home and in peace without workmen turning up constantly. I looked through my 2023 calendar and almost every week since January was an appointment with a workman!
I have just been relaxing today and I have been watching Homes Under the Hammer on BBC iplayer for the last few hours. I went through and looked at all the shows that are about my local area and also the areas of Kent I am interested in moving too. I'm just on one about Ramsgate now. I would never have the confidence to bid on an auction property, but I do find it interesting.

Sorry, I wandered into the wilderness and got lost! I think I've decluttered some, but can't recall! Definitely want to start afresh for 2024. Some life changes coming, predominantly that Mr Flamingo will be returning to full time work, doing a 9-5 where he's only ever done shift work before, and with Junior Flamingo in secondary now I will be home alone from 8:30am until 4pm
No excuse for not whipping the home into shape and getting myself mentally and physically healthier.
